The last day of school... there is nothing sweeter than watching the pure joy on the face of children as they begin Summer with excitement! It is also bittersweet as I write my last message as St. Louis School Principal and prepare for my new adventure as Head of School at Bishop Ireton High School. As I shared with the children in our final assembly today, please know that I am praying for each one of them and each one of you, and I look forward to seeing you at Mass and parish/school events. For many of you, I will be blessed to see you again when your child transitions to the high school world! If you are at Bishop Ireton for an Open House, sporting event or visit, please look for me and say hello. I will give you a Hawk-Cardinal greeting!
I often share that a school is a strange place without children in it...know that while you are enjoying your summer vacations, Mrs. Anne Dyke and the office staff will be busy here, preparing for your return. You are blessed to have a wonderful, faith-filled school principal - I have been privileged to work with her and am grateful to call her friend. I know that she will be taking great care of this school community.
May you find time for sun, for relaxing, for leisure reading, for vacationing, and most importantly for our Lord in prayer and in the Mass. Mark your calendars for the first day of school, August 26th. The official 2019-20 calendar is almost complete and will come out at the end of this week. We will send it electronically and post it on the website. Then I will head out on my first cruise with my sisters... Pray for smooth sailing!
