Summer Sunday Snapshot

Throughout the summer,
we will have a monthly theme and rotate through stations based on our theme.

JUNE IS
CREATION CARE MONTH

We are partnering with Happy Tails Animal Rescue! We will make dog blankets, cat toys, and dog treats to donate to Happy Tails. On June 30th, Happy Tails will join us for Sunday School. They will teach us more about how they rescue animals, and they will bring PUPPIES for us to play with!

Help Host Freedom School at Koinonia!

Hennepin Kids for LYFE is partnering with Freedom School to provide a day camp experience at Koinonia for their students, and we need your help!

Freedom School is a summer literacy program hosted at Park Avenue United Methodist Church that empowers youth to excel and believe in their ability to make a difference in themselves, their families, communities, country and world with hope, education and action. They also p rovide 2 meals a day for their scholars and weekly books to help build their home libraries.

On July 2nd and July 16th, Fre edom School will bring 50 students and their teachers to Koinonia for a day camp experience. We need Hennepin members to serve as hosts for our Freedom School guests. Hosts will help our guests find their way around the property, help small groups with fishing, lead hikes, and other activities that will be planned for their day camp experience. If you are able to help us show radical hospitality to these students, please contact Lynne Carroll at lynne@haumc.org.

Hennepin Kids Summer Reading Program!

Stop into the library beginning on Sunday, June 9th!

Hennepin Kids for LYFE is partnering with the HAUMC Library Committee to offer a summer reading program. Throughout the summer, our Hennepin Kids will be encouraged to read books that coordinate with our sermon series and our Sunday school weekly lessons. Books will be available in the Hennepin Library, or pick your own that supports the themes! Kids will earn Book Bucks for every book that they read. On Sunday, September 8th, we will host a book fair where kids can buy books with their Book Bucks!
