We want to thank all of our wonderful students for their spirit of giving! We collected over 3,000 food and hygiene item for Killarney Elementary school. Due to reaching our goal, we will be celebrating with a free dress down day on Tuesday, November 27th. Our students did earn this dress down day, however if anyone is interested in making a $2 donation on that day it will go to the 2018 Angel Tree Program care of the Herbert Family. The Hour of Code is Back! 

The Innovation Team is excited to announce that we are hosting our fourth annual Hour of Code event here at Park Maitland School! The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. The Hour of Code has become a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. This coding experience is offered to our 3rd-6th graders. The voluntary and FREE session will take place Wednesday, December 5th, 2018. The session will be an hour long from 3:30pm-4:30pm after school. Students in 3rd grade will be offered complimentary child care in Parker's Gang until the 3:30pm event begins.The students will use MacBookAir laptops and iPads in the Maker Space and Library of the iHub building. We have included a Google Form sign-up sheet below for you to register your child.

The Book Fair and Penguin Patch Holiday Shop are coming to Park Maitland the week of December 10th! Students will have an opportunity to visit at scheduled times during the week so as to not interrupt their academic classes. Envelopes will go home the week of December 3rd.
 
The book fair will be will be open Mon. - Thur. from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Parents are welcome to visit the store at any time during the open hours. Contact Ms. Talbert at  ctalbert@parkmaitland.org  if you have questions.

The Holiday Shop will be open Mon. - Thur. from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Contact Ms. Pollack by email at  dpollack@parkmaitland.org   for Holiday Shop volunteer opportunities.
 
We ask that parents send money for the Book Fair and Holiday Shop in the provided envelopes and clearly mark your child's name, grade, and class. This is MOST important! Envelopes can be returned to your child's homeroom class. If you are coming to shop with your child, credit cards will be accepted at both the book fair and the holiday shop.
 
Because students will visit the Holiday Shop and Book Fair during the same period, we are asking that you indicate if leftover money can be spent or should be returned home.

The Young Masters artwork is complete! The student masterpieces have been shipped to the Young Masters company to be scanned and prepped, for each student's personalized brochure to be created. We hope to receive the brochures back shortly after the Thanksgiving break. We will keep you updated; please stay tuned!

Calling all siblings entering
K-4 & K-5!

Registration is now underway for the K-4 & K-5 Screening Fun Day on Saturday, January 12th. If you have not done so already,  please click here to register your child.  This is a fun Moana themed event where K-4 & K-5 applicants are invited on campus for art, story time, and tinkering activities. While here, teachers will be meeting one-on-one with students to assess their readiness for Park Maitland's program next school year. We will be capping this event so please be sure to sign up soon in order to reserve a spot. Families who are unable to attend this day will be asked to schedule an individual screening at a later date. Please feel free to pass this email along to other families who have expressed interest in our K-4 & K-5 program to ensure they can reserve their spot.
