Hi, Mentor ! School's out for summer...woohoo! Thanks so much for all you've done to help guide your mentee this past year. You all are amazing ! If your mentee was not a graduating senior this year, remember it's still okay to touch base with them via phone, text or email and check in to see how their summer is going.

We will most likely only send out our newsletter bi-weekly during the summer break as we will be busy out in the community ramping up our mentor recruitment efforts to support the 25 - 30 new students who will be entering our program this fall.

Please note that starting this Friday, June 14, and every Friday through July 26, our office will be closed since we are located within the school district's administrative offices. They switch to a 10-hour day/4-day work week during summer break and so we must do the same.
Our Annual Mentor Update online form is live and we've already received submissions from over 50% of our mentors! Thank you! That helps us so much with our planning for the coming year. We hope the rest of you will take a minute of your time to provide us with your most updated contact information and your plans for serving as a mentor in the 2019-2020 school year. We hope you will consider continuing to mentor your student next year. And for our mentors of graduating seniors, we will be bringing approximately 25 to 30 new freshmen into the program this August. We would love for you to take on one of our new scholars.
As a valued partner of the Tampa Bay Rays, owners of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, we were offered a special discount on home game tickets for the Rowdies for the remainder of the season. Click here to purchase tickets using special promotional code CE19 that is good for 25% off for the 2019 season!

The next home game is this Saturday, 6/15, at 6:30pm when the Rowdies take on the Charleston Battery.
You may have received an email from Pasco County Schools' Raptor System this week indicating you will need to update your volunteer application with the school district on or after July 1, 2019 if you plan to volunteer in the 2019-2020 school year. We will remind you as well...on or after July 1, 2019.
Thanks so much to Mentor Dick Sanders who has served two of our TSIC scholars here in Pasco County. After 28 sessions this year with his current mentee (the young man pictured here), we received the news that Dick will be moving out of state over the summer. He will be greatly missed but we wish him the best of luck in his new adventures. Thanks so much, Dick, for all you've done for both of your mentees!

We will be looking for a new mentor (obviously, with big shoes to fill) for this scholar who will be a junior at Anclote High School in August.
A HUGE thank you to our current mentors for either logging all your mentoring sessions online using the link below and/or ensuring your student's green Mentor Session Log was updated and signed with all your session dates. Our reports were due last week to the state and we appreciate your help in our final push to make sure we had the most accurate information possible. We reached out to several of you to confirm dates of sessions and you all responded so quickly. Our reporting went very smooth this year...thanks to you! And so many of you went above and beyond with the number of sessions you had with your scholar. We have THE best mentors, without a doubt!

If for some reason you had some sessions you forgot to log, you can still use the link below to record them. Even though sessions entered now would be excluded in our report to the state, we want our records to reflect all those mentor sessions as accurately as possible.
Mentor , thanks for being a mentor with Take Stock in Children! During the summer break, think of a friend, neighbor or colleague who you think would make an excellent mentor and share your TSIC experience with them. Referrals from current mentors are our best source for finding additional volunteers to serve more students.
