November Newsletter

As we begin the holiday season, we certainly have a lot to be thankful for - a growing, dedicated group of volunteers, members and donors that support our work throughout the year, and access to the best state park in the nation. Did you know that Island Beach State Park was voted Best State Park this year? We couldn't agree more and are so thankful for the opportunity to work in this beautiful park.

In this Issue:
...Volunteer a few hours at the Beach Grass Planting next weekend
...Giving Tuesday is November 27th, please consider supporting our work!

- Friends of Island Beach State Park

The Friends of Island Beach State Park could not operate without the generosity of our donors. Through countless volunteer hours and the selfless donation of your hard-earned money, we strive to continue to increase public appreciation and stewardship of Island Beach State Park!

Your donations help to support the upkeep of the beach and osprey cameras (a very costly endeavor!), purchase much needed items for the Park's nature program, purchase materials for restoration projects like our annual Beach Grass Planting Event, offer free events and educational programs in the Park, and more!

Make your donation count! Donate on November 27th, and your donation will be matched. Facebook is partnering with PayPal to match a total of up to $7 million in donations made on Facebook to nonprofits.

Volunteer a few hours to help plant beach grass at Island Beach State Park! Please arrive to register at Swimming Area 1 at 9:30am. After registration you will be assigned to a specific part of the park, you most likely need to drive there. Please bring a pole or shovel to dig with. All volunteers must register in advance.

This year's planting has been generously sponsored by Wakefern Food Corporation and the Barnegat Bay Partnership.
