PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Daves Avenue Families,

If you are seeking an opportunity to become more involved, please consider becoming a member of the Daves Avenue School Site Council.

What is the School Site Council?
The School Site Council (SSC) is composed of the school principal, and a group of school and community members, selected by their peers, representing all segments of the school community for the common goal of supporting student success. The SSC does this by developing and monitoring the implementation of the school’s plan known as the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). This plan is a record of the vision, goals, objectives, and strategies developed by our school community and should be understood by all stakeholders. School Site Council members are elected every 2 years.

When are the meetings?
The scheduled meetings for this school year are from 3:00-4:00 P.M. on September 30, October 7, January 27, March 31, and May 12. At this time, the meetings are projected to take place virtually via Zoom.

Next Steps:
  • If you are interested in becoming a voting member of the School Site Council, please complete this Daves Avenue SSC~Declaration to Run Google Form by Tuesday, September 15 @ 10:00 A.M.
  • School Site Council election ballots (if necessary) will be published in The Avenue on Wednesday, September 16th.
  • The first School Site Council Meeting for the 2020-21 school year will be held on September 30, 2020 @ 3:00 P.M.

Regardless of whether or not you are elected to be a voting member, I strongly encourage all interested parents to attend SSC meetings. The participation and perspectives from community members is warmly embraced and can only help us grow as a professional learning community.

In education together,
Principal, Daves Avenue Elementary School
