THIS SUNDAY'S SERVICE
AUSTIN CODY & JUAN CAMACHO
Sunday, May 30 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

Music is connection. Music is communication. Music is worship. On May 30th the choirs will perform, instrumentalists will play, and we will have guest performances from members of the congregation. On this day we take the time to acknowledge the unique role that music plays in our lives.

UPCOMING SUNDAY SERVICES
MICHELE TOWNSEND GROVE
Sunday, June 6 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

Our world frames perfection as a quality to which we should all aspire. Yet, it is possible that our quest for perfection squelches our self-esteem, creativity, and ability to fully relate to others? Join us for this worship service where we will explore our addiction to perfection and the possible opportunities that are before us when we alter our quest for perfection for a quest for authentic living.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
New adult religious education offerings for 2021 have been announced in the Adult Religious Education Prospectus earlier this month. It promises to be a fun semester of classes, workshops, discussion and creative learning. The adult religious education committee is working on new programs to be added to this semester’s program. Keep an eye here for updates! Also, updates will be included in the eNews and on the church calendar.
OUR CARING CONGREGATION
Please consider donating to the Little Free Pantries run by Julie Laut and AJ Herzog, which they have kept active daily since late spring. In order to address increased and unique needs this winter, they have created an Amazon wish list. All items will be delivered to Julie's house and shared between the two pantries. Donations of all items will continue to be accepted as usual at both locations, if you want to bring them in person.

Thank you for your support and generosity ~ Julie and AJ
JOYS AND SORROWS sent to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org last Sunday, May 23.
From James Hannum: Happy birthday to our grandson, Evan, who just celebrated his 13th birthday. Evan is in the Coming of Age group!

From The Herzogs: In listening to this bridging service, we are reminded of all that our three kiddos have received from this church on their journeys of growth and self-discovery as they move from childhood into adulthood. Next weekend we will be celebrating one of those adults as our oldest graduates from St. Olaf College. Thank you UUCUC for being part of making him who he is!

From Chris Hannauer: Sorrow for the family and colleagues of Champaign police officer Christopher Oberheim, and our whole community in the wake of his senseless killing this week.

Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.
GIVING AND GRATITUDE
UUCUC Social Action Offering. Each month a selected organization is chosen to receive offerings from our congregation. You may donate to the social action offering for the month in one of the following ways:

During the month of May, we will support Equal Justice Initiative through our social action offering. Founded in 1989, the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) is a private, nonprofit organization that provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons. They challenge the death penalty and excessive punishment and provide re-entry assistance to formerly incarcerated people.
RECENT SHARED OFFERINGS

During the month of April 2021, Prairie Rivers Network was selected to be the recipient of the shared offering. As of May 11, the UUCUC congregation contributed a total of $2,420!
