The Sidewalk Poetry Committee continues to move forward with its goal of embedding 16 poems into the newly laid sidewalks on Waupaca's Main Street. The actual imprints for the 16 poems have arrived in our city! They will soon be used to imprint the first 8 poems, on North Main Street, as the city gets ready to do the final sidewalk creation.
|
|
Stay Tuned for Sidewalk Poetry!
|
Coming soon, the decorative parts of the sidewalks will be laid. They will
be in a light red color and that is where the poems will be embedded.
The plan is for the WCAB webpage to print 1-2 poems that will go into the
sidewalks of the northern most blocks weekly from June 20-July 25th.
Watch for more updates about the sidewalk poetry as the renovation continues
to the remaining 2 blocks of Main street.

WCAB's Waupaca Local Live:
Our June show will showcase the music of emerging singer-songwriter Amanda Straub!
Thursday, June 17 at 7pm on Facebook Live!
|
Amanda grew up with music all around her. Her family sings at every gathering, melodies are woven into the tapestry of her experience.
She's been singing in the reggae band, Kyerokaya since 2015, which helped her to build confidence onstage and spark the desire to pick up the guitar after some years of neglect. In that time, a few songs of her own have emerged.
Amanda loves freeform songs, that pour out without preconception: songs that come spiraling to her like a maple seed helicopter. If she doesn't catch it mid-flight, it fades into the rest. Join co-hosts Barb Laedtke and Tammie Jo Berg, as they hear this emerging singer songwriter share some original songs and talk about her creative process! Go here to hear Amanda cover a Johnny Cash song....
