     Council Member Cisneros Presents Annual TechConnect Fair Series
Learn to code, participate in fun, interactive tech activities, and enjoy FREE FAMILY FUN at one or more of the TechConnect Fairs offered by Council Member Cisneros this summer. Many thanks to our partners so far: Boeing, HCC, HISD, Rice University, and the Houston Public Library's Mobile Express team.

  • July 14th, 1-4pm @ Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center, 6402 Market St.
  • July 21st, 1-4pm @ Carnegie Neighborhood Library, 1050 Quitman St.
   JOB FAIR: Apply for a Position with Public Works and Engineering!  
The Department of Public Works and Engineering will hold a job fair on July 15, 2017 from 9 am - 12 pm at the Transportation & Drainage Operations facility located @ 5500 N. McCarty St.  Interviewing, testing, and assistance with the application process will be provided on site. Remember your High School Diploma/GED, TX CDL, and resume! Open positions include:
  • Inspector (TDL required)
  • Water Inspector I (TDL required)
  • Utility Mechanic (TDL required)
  • Carpenter (Must have at least 18 months of education beyond high school level)
  • Equipment Worker III & IV (CDL required)
CALLING ALL ARTISTS
The City of Houston is expanding the "Mini Mural" program, adding 38 original artworks to street-side traffic signals control cabinets throughout Houston. Artists are encouraged to submit pre-qualification applications here for a chance to create a mural like the one pictured above, funded by Council Member Cisneros.   
  Check Out The Newly Renovated Burnett Park!  
Council Member Cisneros was pleased to have been part of the Burnett Park ribbon cutting last week. She was joined by neighborhood children at the local YMCA, to whom she read and explored the new park's health and literacy features. Check out the newly renovated park next time you're in the neighborhood!
