Shanna Sordahl is a sound artist and composer based in Oakland, CA. Using amplified cello with analog and digital electronics and installation art as her primary mediums, Shanna's work is a continual exploration of one's relationship to both sound and physical spaces. She emphasizes timbral changes, the resonant body of objects, and the re-contextualization of sound through the use of unconventional playing techniques, feedback, and audience immersion. Shanna strives to create sonic and physical spaces that induce a focused state of awareness, where one is encouraged to reflect on or reconsider their relationship to sound, people, spaces, and ultimately, ideas.

THEATRE | NOV 20-JAN 18, 2019 | New York, New York

Evolve Puppets is raising money to bring our innovative puppetry/theatre/multimedia show HOME to The Tank NYC in Spring of 2019!

Home: a hybrid puppetry/theatre play by Tanya Khordoc and Barry Weil (Evolve Company) with score by Joel Phillip Friedman.

The exhibition includes prints and handmade artist's books which contemplate and celebrate various aspects of both the built and the natural world. These narrative works seek to tease out possibilities of interaction including observations, reflections, judgments and habits of thought and non-thought. The works explore ways to engage the minds of the audience (and the maker) with both visual and textual elements.
