Worship: Sundays @ 8:15, 9:40, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Dear Friends,

What do a tiny shepherd trying to knock people out with his shepherd's crook, a delicious meal, and Christmas music galore have in common? They were all a part of a wonderful evening on Wednesday, when Trinity's children enacted a live nativity, 300 folks shared in a massive Christmas dinner, and the combined adult choirs plus orchestra offered a beautiful cantata. Thanks to all who were a part of bringing to life such a wonderful evening, especially all the volunteer servants, singer, musicians, Children and Family Ministries, and Worship and Arts Ministries.

Speaking of children, one of the ministries for which I am particularly grateful is Trinity's Stepping Stones Preschool. With a rich 42-year history, it has a fabulous and well-deserved reputation in our community. It also has a strong Christian foundation including weekly chapel time with the children. Jan Banks is in her ninth year as the amazing Director of Stepping Stones. She began as Director at a time of transition both for Stepping Stones and in her own personal life (having been recently widowed) and has offered capable, wise, enthusiastic, joyful, and deeply faithful leadership.

After offering so much of herself for all of these years, Jan has decided to retire at the end of this school year in May of 2019. We will miss her greatly and will continue to count the blessings of her leadership for the time that she has been a part of the team. Please click here to read Jan's letter to the Trinity congregation. McCall Griggs, currently the Assistant Director of Stepping Stones, will move into the Director role beginning in June of 2019. Having grown up in Trinity, served in several other staff roles for more than 10 years, and in her second year as the Assistant Director, McCall will be wonderful offering continuity and leading Stepping Stones into its next chapter.

As we look forward to the next few days leading up to Christmas, be sure to make plans now to attend one of our Christmas Eve services and to invite a friend. Christmas is a time when people who are nominally religious or don't attend a church are typically open to taking a first step of exploration. So it's a great time to invite a friend. Think about someone you know who might be lonely or celebrating alone this Christmas and invite them to go with you to one of the services (4:30 Traditional with combined adult choirs; 6:30 Contemporary with Worship Band; 9:00 Contemporary with Sonlight Youth Choir; and 11:00 Traditional in the Chapel). Or invite families with young children to the 3:00 pm Children and Family service. Or perhaps you have a new neighbor or co-worker that might appreciate an invitation. Simply be sure to invite a friend.

Happy Advent and see you Sunday!

Grace and Peace,
Catherine
