Blessings To All This Holiday Season
We want to wish all of you a wonderful, healthy, restful, and rejuvenating holiday season. It can be challenging to stick to healthy habits this time of the year, however it is so essentially needed to help maintain a healthy immune system to avoid winter infections, maintain a healthy weight, and to help balance what could be a very stressful time. Here are a few tips:
1.
EAT REGULAR HEALTHY MEALS EACH DAY
Do not skip breakfast, and make sure your meal has a good portion of protein. A good example is our Opticleanse GHI vegan protein rich shake,
which has all amino acids as well as ingredients to support detoxification and a healthy immune system. My favorite combination is blending
1 1/2 scoops Opticleanse GHI powder
1/2 banana
1 tbsp sunflower or almond butter
4 oz non dairy nut milk (coconut, almond, hazelnut)
1/2 tsp ground flaxseeds
8-10 oz water
It can be hot or cold, drink no less than half of your body weight, in ounces of water, each day.
3. GET AT LEAST 7, PREFERABLY 8 HOURS OF SLEEP EACH NIGHT
To allow proper healing and restoration.
If you can't set aside time to do exercise, then take more steps getting places, and/or step in place while doing other things, while watching TV, brushing your hair or brushing your teeth, while the shower is warming up, etc.
5. KEEP SUGAR AND ALCOHOL IN CHECK
These are all calorie rich foods , so if you consume them, have a small portion on an occasional basis. If you don't have the will power to limit your intake, I recommend avoiding it altogether.
6. STAY ON YOUR MODIFIED HEALTHY DIET PROGRAM
If you are gluten free or dairy free, find some other alternative food options to bring with you to events, as they will likely not cater to your special dietary requirements. I will usually bring a baggie in my purse with rice crackers, my gluten free sourdough bread (it's amazing and when toasted tastes just like the real kind, and I'm ordering extra loaves next week, in case you want to order a loaf ), and dark chocolate covered almonds or M & Ms for my dessert.
7. DON'T OVERLOOK YOUR HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Leave some time to just relax and unwind.

Dominguez-Roth Foundation launch event
One of my former patients, before she passed away from advanced ovarian cancer, asked if I would create a non profit corporation with her. She wanted her legacy to:
1. Provide community education about the importance of integrative medicine
2. Help provide funding for integrative medical research and development
3. Provide financial assistance to patients who want to take an integrative medical approach to their care, but cannot afford it
I am honored to carry her torch and help fulfill her legacy.
We will provide more information once our website remodel has been completed.
