CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Don't for
get this Sunday is the 1st Sunday so when you're out shopping you may want to pick up a few cans of food or even look in your pantry and see what's
there and bring it to church o Sunday.
Merry Christmas!!!! (Epiphany Begins on the 6th)
This Sunday we will hear again of "Herod the Grinch" and those three wise men who actually went to see King Herod in Jerusalem in search of the "King of the Jews"... the star in the east had called them to seek. They were going to worship the baby Jesus and after doing so they had a dream to NOT return to Herod... Come this Sunday to hear the whole story! .... (Father Gary Baldwin will be our supply priest and we're pretty sure he knows this story.)
Children's News
Sunday School will now be known as "Children's Chapel." We have decided to try something new that more closely reflects what we are actually doing when the youth and children meet together outside of the adult worship. Not only will the name change, but our meeting time will change to 9:30 am instead of 10 am. At 10 am the Children's Chapel participants will join the adults in the service, then leave right after the Gospel to engage in our own discussion of the lesson. We will rejoin the adults after the Peace. We'll see how it goes and make changes down the road if needed. This began last Sunday!
The Good Book
Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry calls upon followers of Jesus to join him in the Good Book Club, reading the Gospel of John. Each day, from Epiphany on January 6 through Shove Tuesday, February 25, we'll read a passage from the gospel. "I look forward to reading John's Gospel with you," said Bishop Curry. "May this coming year, this Epiphany - as we celebrate the coming of the wise men - be the coming of new wisdom, new life, and new love, as we read John's Gospel together." For more information, check out the website goodbookclub.org.
And Also in January... 2020...
- New Altar Flower chart for signing up on
- New coffee hour sign-up sheets
- New vestry member elections,
- New annual statement of giving statements come out
- New Children's Chapel continues and
- a whole bunch of birthdays!
Basically what all this means is that we need volunteers for coffee hour, altar flowers, card ministry and anyone else willing to put their name out for the vestry elections? Any more volunteers for ???? Please prayerfully consider...
Also, Carol Mohor (our treasurer) has decided to not order new pledge envelopes this year. She has plenty of unused ones from the past year for those that want them (especially anyone who gives cash and wants to keep track). She will even go through and correct the dates if you need her to but as long as its in an envelope with your name it will be recorded. Those who write checks can simply fold their check or are more than welcome to use the envelopes you have left from this past year. There's no sense in wasting the paper (trees) or money to purchase more since the minimum order is more than twice what we need. Any questions or comments please let Carol Mohor know.
January 26th: Annual Parish Meeting after church. (written annual reports will be due before)

COLLECT FOR The Second Sunday after Christmas
O
God, who wonderfully created, and yet more wonderfully restored, the dignity of human nature: Grant that we may share the divine
life
of him who humbled himself to share our humanity, your Son Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

During our search process
Please keep our entire vestry, in your prayers for guidance and discernment for our future. This is a time for all to come together and work to keep St. Andrew's in line with with God's plan for us. "We" are His church! And let us look at this time as an opportunity to discern God's future plans for us at St. Andrew's.
Also, as we go through this process please lift us up in daily prayer:
Almighty and everlasting God, from Whom all good and perfect gifts are given. Look graciously upon us at St. Andrew's. Guide the hearts and minds of those who shall choose a priest for this congregation; that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries. May we truly please Thee through this endeavor. Help us to encourage and continue to love as Christ loves us. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen
