Lansing Community College seeks a qualified candidate to fill an adjunct professor position in Art, Design and MultimediaResponsibilities include teaching Graphic Design and Visual Communication courses including but not limited to digital media foundations, graphic design, typography, publication design, web design, interaction design, motion graphics and interactive media.

REACH Studio Art Center is currently looking for program and classroom assistants These are volunteer positions.  Programming at REACH includes a free (3x weekly) after-school art activity drop-in called "Creative Connections", registration/fee-based art classes, workshops and open studios, summer day camps and involvement in special grant funded community art projects.

Great Lakes Reality Labs is currently looking for a passionate, self-motivated 3D Artist. Y ou will be expected to interpret the goals of the project, collaborate with the development team and produce quality 3D art that adheres to the artistic standards of the company and project. This position involves creating believable indoor/outdoor environments as game settings and filling those worlds with static/interactive props in order to create cohesive and interesting worlds.

The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) is seeking a  Community Development Grants Program Manager This position serves as the resource person for MCACA's Regional Regranting Program and the Capital Improvement Program. Deadline for applications is Dec. 19.

Lansing Charter Academy seeks a K-8 Art TeacherIn this position, a cohesive leadership team of deans will be there to support you every step of the way. Along with their result-driven curriculum and commitment to educating the whole child - academically, morally, and socially - you and your students will be set up for success.

There is an open position for a  Graphic Arts Designer specialist for the Marketing and Communications Division for programs within Michigan Land Bank, MSHDA and Talent and Economic Development Department. 
Responsibilities include being the expert in the specialty area of designing logos, publications, reports, forms, design pages for the department web site and other printed materials.

The MSU Department of University Advancement is hiring a Publications Design Coordinator. Conferences, Classes and Creative Opportunities

The Lansing Poetry Club, the RCAH Center for Poetry at Michigan State University and LEAP are seeking a Poet Laureate to engage the tri-county community in the literary arts. The intent of the program is to promote poetry as an art form, expand access to the literary arts, connect the community to poetry as well as showcase poetry as a literary voice that contributes to a greater sense of place. Deadline to apply is Feb. 1.

The DeVos Institute of Arts Management is pleased to offer  pro-bono strategic planning services for up to five arts or cultural organizations based in rural, semi-rural, micropolitan or similar communities across the United States. The Institute seeks five partners with whom it will work to develop a long-term strategic plan that celebrates the unique assets of their organization, community, cultural history and environment. Interested organizations are invited to apply by Dec. 14.

The Arts Council of Greater Lansing is honored to partner once again with Adams Outdoor Advertising to create this free opportunity - the 2019 Young Creatives Billboard Project - for tri-county educators and their students. Teachers who work with K-12 students who attend any Eaton, Ingham or Clinton County school have until Feb. 4 to submit one artwork to be considered for placement on a digital billboard.

Art as Healing Foundation seeks entries for a juried art exhibition entitled Hear Us! / The Female voice, March 1-31 at the Riverside Art Center in Ypsilanti, Mich. This is a regional call for art by women artists from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. This is an all-media exhibit; however, works submitted must be wired and ready to hang on a wall. Deadline is Feb 1.

Join over 300 juried fine artists and crafters as they fill the streets of historic Downtown Muskegon.  The Lakeshore Art Festival is a unique mix of arts, crafts, food and family fun. Guests will enjoy a juried fine art and craft fair, as well as vibrant streets brimming with unique artisan food products, children's activities, entertainment and more! Sign up to become a craft vendor by Feb. 1, 2019.

Fusion Art is once again celebrating women artists with the 2nd Annual Women Artists online art competition, Jan. 15 - April 14. Best-in-Show winners are invited to the 3rd Annual Group Show in Palm Springs. All women artists over the age of 18 are encouraged to submit their best representational and non-representational art and photography for this open competition. The work can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction. Deadline for entry is 
Jan. 2.

TZIPAC is proud to celebrate the magic of black and white photography with the 7th Annual Zebra Awards. They are seeking submissions of black and white photography. The Zebra Awards is opened to any photographers who are 18 years and over. The competition will not distinguish between professionals and non-professionals.


 Featured Creative Opportunity

VSA Playwright Discovery Program Competition


Young writers with disabilities and collaborative groups that include students with disabilities, grades 6-12, are invited to explore the disability experience through the art of writing for performance.

Young writers with disabilities are encouraged to submit a  ten-minute script  of any genre. Entries may be the work of an individual student or a collaboration by a group of up to five students. The competition has three divisions: grades 6-7, grades 8-9 and grades 10-12. A panel of theater professionals selects division winners.

One winning piece is chosen in the Primary and Junior Divisions (grades 6-7 / ages 11-13 and 8-9 / ages 13-15 respectively). Winners in these divisions will be featured in press releases and on the Kennedy Center website.

Selected winners in the Senior Division (grades 10-12 / ages 15-18) will receive exclusive access to participate in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in Washington, D.C. Winners will have the opportunity to work with industry professionals in workshop and further development of their own script, as well as participating in workshops, networking opportunities and the festival's award ceremony alongside the nation's premier collegiate playwrights and theatre artists.

Categories include  plays, screenplays and musical theater.

The deadline to submit a body of work for consideration is  Jan. 23.
