Winter Break and Preparing for Mid-Terms!
Christmas Break begins on Friday, December 20 with dismissal at 12:00pm. All students must be picked up by 12pm as the school will shut down at that time. Winter Break runs from December 20 through January 1. Classes will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
Mid-Term Exams will be held from Thursday, Jan 9 - Tuesday, Jan 14.

Some of our students, especially Freshmen, have never taken a mid-term or final exam and the experience can be even that much more stressful. It’s important to manage stress appropriately, here are some test planning tips:
Recognize  when you're under stress and acknowledge that it’s okay.

Plan ahead!   Figure how much time it will take to study for an exam. Typically students should begin 3-4 days before the exam.

Get a good night’s sleep.   Without enough sleep, your body may not be rested enough to fight off any last minute panic.

Eat a good breakfast.   Proteins and whole grains provide energy and stamina to perform to the best of your ability.

Stop studying an hour before the test.
Seeing something you don’t know at the last minute is bound to create panic. Put the books away and try to be as relaxed as possible.
Do not talk about the test  with other students once you get there. Others may say something you didn’t study and create panic resulting in forgetting what you actually do know.

Don’t be your own worst enemy!  How we behave under stress is determined by what we think. Positive self talk is a very powerful tool we can use to help us succeed.

Ask for help.   Know that faculty and staff are always here to support you and help you succeed to the best of your ability.

So, relax and do your best. Good luck!

PS - Don't forget to breathe! It will be okay!
