Newsletter Changes Coming in January

Starting in January the newsletter is going to see significant changes! We hope these changes will provide a better experience for you. We're going to simplify and offer a Reads and Recommendations Newsletter, an Events Newsletter and a Traditional Newsletter.

The Reads and Recommendations Newsletter will feature upcoming titles, new databases and more. It will be sent out once a month and should arrive at the beginning of the month.

The Events Newsletter will provide a more extensive break down of the programming being offered region-wide. It will be sent out on a monthly basis as well and should arrive during the middle of the month.

The Traditional Newsletter will bring you any significant updates from around our region. This will be sent out whenever there is news to share but will not be on a monthly schedule.

As we implement this change in January, all current newsletter subscribers will be sent all three lists. At that point there will be an option to change your subscription preferences so you can subscribe only to the newsletters that are meaningful for you.

Storytime

Join us for Storytime!  Storytime is a great place to learn, to meet new friends, to read and most importantly to have fun! During Storytime we practice talking, singing, writing, reading and playing but we have fun while we do it, making it an impactful learning experience. Practicing these things also helps prepare little ones to be ready to learn to read when they enter Kindergarten. F eatured Book:

All the Forgivenesses by Elizabeth Hardinger

From the author of Printz Medal winner  Bone Gap  comes the unforgettable story of two young women-one living, one dead-dealing with loss, desire, and the fragility of the American dream during WWII.

When Frankie's mother died and her father left her and her siblings at an orphanage in Chicago, it was supposed to be only temporary-just long enough for him to get back on his feet and be able to provide for them once again. That's why Frankie's not prepared for the day that he arrives for his weekend visit with a new woman on his arm and out-of-state train tickets in his pocket.

Now Frankie and her sister, Toni, are abandoned alongside so many other orphans-two young, unwanted women doing everything they can to survive.

And as the embers of the Great Depression are kindled into the fires of World War II, and the shadows of injustice, poverty, and death walk the streets in broad daylight, it will be up to Frankie to find something worth holding on to in the ruins of this shattered America-every minute of every day spent wondering if the life she's able to carve out will be enough.
