Return Advent Giving Tree Gifts
If you took an ornament from the Advent Giving Tree, please return the unwrapped gift and place it under the tree in the Great Hall no later than this Sunday, December 16. Each ornament on the tree represents a gift for a child at the St. Louis Crisis Nursery. If you did not take an ornament but want to participate in our Advent Giving project, please bring a book, toy, game, or clothing item for a child age birth to 12 years. The St. Louis Crisis Nursery provides short-term, emergency shelter for families facing an emergency or crisis. For more information, visit

Please Note: December 16 is the last Sunday for Church School this year. There will be no Church School services or classes on December 23 or 30. Services and classes resume on Sunday, January 6.
Here's what is going on in Church School this Sunday, December 16:
Preschool I and II, PreKindergarten, Kindergarten
Students continue learning about the season of Advent. What color is the candle we light on the Advent wreath today? Why is it different? Mary and Joseph walked a long way to the city of Bethlehem. When they finally arrived there was no place for them to stay. What did they do? For craft, students make an angel ornament.
First Grade
First grade students continue learning about Advent. What color is the candle we light on the Advent wreath today? Why is it different? There is another candle in the church called the Paschal Candle. Students learn why we don't light this candle during Advent. First grade students make a Nativity craft for their binders.
Second Grade
For the past several weeks, second grade students have been learning about Jesus's ancestors from the Old Testament and making Jesse Tree ornaments to represent these people and their stories. This Sunday, they make the final ornament for their Jesse Tree wreaths, the ornament representing the birth of Jesus.
Third Grade
During Advent, third grade students put together care packages for CSMSG parishioners living at the Gatesworth, a senior living community. This week make an angel ornament and assemble the care packages.
Fourth and Fifth Grades
Fourth and fifth grade students learn about Elizabeth and her husband, Zechariah. The angel Gabriel tells Elizabeth she is going to have a child. Who is her son? Who else does Gabriel visit and tell she is going to have a baby?
