GAC Update: Reflecting on 2019 and Looking Ahead to 2020
FEA Holds More Than 175 Congressional Visits in 2019
Over the past year, FEA continued to make a significant impact on how policy makers view 1031 Exchanges. During 2019, FEA conducted more than 175 congressional meetings, with 57 during the Mid-Year Fly-in, 39 during the May Fly-in and 75 during the October Fly-in.  2020 congressional visits are currently being scheduled for FEA’s Mid-Year Fly-in, which will be held Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29. Registration for the event will begin in February.
Dates for the 2020 CES® Exams Have Been Set
The exam will be offered again in conjunction with the FEA Mid-Year Fly-In in Washington, DC, on:

Tuesday, April 28, 2020
Application Deadline: March 31 st

In addition, the exam will be offered in several locations (as determined by the Council based upon interest expressed by exam candidates and the availability of suitable exam space and proctors) on:
Friday, May 1st
Application Deadline: April 3 rd

Of course, the exam will be offered again in conjunction with the FEA Annual Conference in Chicago, IL, on:

Wednesday, September 23, 2020
Application Deadline: August 21 st

1031 PAC
The FEA 1031PAC contributes to Members of Congress of both political parties. The FEA 1031PAC is funded by eligible individual employees. To become eligible, individuals must be employed by FEA member companies that have filed a Permission to Solicit form. A Permission to Solicit form is required by the Federal Election Commission before FEA can solicit eligible employees of member companies. 
 
Member companies are only permitted to grant one trade association permission to solicit their employees per calendar year. Contact Lynn Harkin at director@1031.org for more information.
