Dear Evangelists,
I pray that you have had a fruitful fall, and have seen a great harvest of souls. Hard to believe Christmas is almost here! God is moving, and using our Texas evangelists in marvelous ways. I'd love to hear from you; let me know what God is doing in your life.
E4E Evangelism Summit & Retreat, Falls Creek, OK: Feb. 11-13
We are excited about a great opportunity to come together for a wonderful time of fellowship, worship, prayer and strategizing at our upcoming E4E (Ephesians 4 Evangelists) Summit & Retreat in beautiful Falls Creek, Oklahoma, Feb. 11-13, 2019. We are partnering with our SBC Evangelists from across the US to come together with pastors, evangelism directors, and other SBC leaders to pray and discuss issues facing churches and evangelists, and work together to come up with some new initiatives and ways we can reach those around us with the Good News of Christ.
I hope you will plan to attend! Because of a generous gift from the North American Mission Board (NAMB) covering most of our costs, registration is only $15 for each evangelist! If your spouse would like to attend, the cost is an additional $50 to cover meals. Please register by signing up through PayPal on the SBC Evangelists' registration page. Empower Conference, Irving, TX: Feb. 25-26
Our Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Evangelism department is working hard on preparation for the Empower Conference at the Irving Convention Center, Feb. 25-26. Under the able leadership of Evangelism Director Shane Pruitt, we are looking forward to a terrific conference which will be sure to be a great encouragement for all of us.
Registration for the Empower Conference is free; please sign up as soon as you can. W
e will have COTBE booth space on the exhibit hall floor, and planned events include our annual business meeting, an Afterglow event, and great opportunities to network, worship and fellowship together. We have a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Irving Convention Center; please let Gary Newman and me know if you plan to attend, and if you would like one of the hotel rooms.
Update on Allen Buchanek
Many of you have been praying with us for our dear brother, Allen Buchanek, who was injured in a fall in Serbia four months ago. Allen is doing well, though his recovery continues through much pain. Let's continue to lift up Allen and his family, and ask Jehovah-Rapha to heal him fully and provide for all his needs. You can connect with Allen on Facebook, where he posts occasional updates.
I look forward to hearing from you. Let's pray that God will help us all to minister in His power and to fulfill our ministries according to His will. Merry Christmas to you and your family, as you celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
