Serving the Community

Evergreen Dinner 
December 14
Join us to serve Christmas dinner and sing carols with our neighbors at Evergreen Senior Living Center. Seating times for dinner are 4:30 and 6pm. Desserts are also needed!

Christmas Caroling
December 16, 5-6pm
Join your KUMC family to sing some carols! We'll return by 6pm and enjoy hot chocolate, games and an ugly Christmas sweater contest! 

Cookie Drop
December 25
Meet in the FLC at 2pm to divide and package the cookies for delivery.
Sign up to bake cookies or deliver them to those who must work on Christmas, such as firefighters, police officers, hospital and medical clinics, gas station and convenience store employees.

Thank you all who have returned your commitment cards for our Debt Reduction and Stewardship campaigns. Your generosity is what makes all of the ways we share Christ's love possible. 

If you have not turned in your cards for these important commitments, please do so online, by mail, or in worship during our offering time as soon as possible. We need your commitments in order to make budgets and plans for the years to come. Thank you again for your generosity and your ministry!
Blue Christmas
December 12,  6:30pm

The Christmas season is filled with wrapped boxes, blinking lights, and decorated conifers. Joy and excitement surround us wherever we go. For many, however, the Christmas season is filled with painful reminders; reminders of lost loved ones, divorce or separation, lost jobs. Join us for Blue Christmas worship as we unite for a time of honest reflection, acknowledgment of the painful experiences we face, while looking ahead to hope and new life.
SAGES in December

December 12, 11:30am in DAC 411, the SAGES gather for their monthly meeting with a covered dish luncheon. They will enjoy caroling from the Building Blocks Preschool and Elvis tribute artist, Moses Snow, will entertain with some Elvis Christmas favorites. A love offering will be collected for Mr. Snow and they will have sign ups for the January Souper Bowl!
Christmas Workday Help Needed

We are getting ready for our annual Christmas Workday on Friday, December 21, at 9am. We will put together bulletins, kid's packets and candles for all of our Christmas Eve services. Everything will be set up in the Atrium. Please email Kim Kuhlman if you are planning to come. Snacks will be provided. Great family activity for you and the kids who are out of school!
Worship an Hour - 
Serve an Hour

Christmas worship can be such an amazing experience to share with family and friends. This year, we are asking you to consider giving your time in service to make Christmas worship happen for others. Then, as you come to Christmas worship with your family, you may enjoy the experience as others are serving. T here are several different worship server opportunities available. Travelers Christmas
December 16,  6:30pm

Going out of town for Christmas? Can't make it to Christmas Eve worship? Join us for candlelight Travelers Christmas Eve worship on December 16!
Young Adult Mission Trip

January 2-6, young adults ages 18-24 (must be out of high school) are invited to participate in a mission trip to New Orleans, Louisiana! We are partnering with Habitat for Humanity for three days of construction work in the Crescent City. We will also have time to explore the historic French Quarter! $315 per person covers program fee, transportation, lodging and 9 meals. Contact Abigail for details. Register by December 17!
Children's Ministries
Family Fun for Advent 
Children's Christmas Eve Service
 
Children in 4th-6th grade have the opportunity to serve by assisting with worship through speaking parts, ushering, greeting and serving communion during the 2pm Christmas Eve Service. Please sign up with Jenny Smith by Wednesday, December 12.
No Sunday School 

December 23 and 30 we encourage you to worship as a family as we will not have Children's or Youth Sunday school.
5th-7th Grade 
5th and 6th Grade Fellowship
Sundays, 5:30-7pm

- Second Sunday each month: fun games and fellowship
- Fourth Sunday each month: emphasis on mission projects
