Our beloved Cantor Roy Einhorn will complete his long and distinguished service to our congregation and will retire on June 30, 2020. At their most recent meetings, the Board of Trustees and Leadership Council approved Cantor Einhorn's contract for the next two years and for his emeritus status with Temple Israel after that.
Over the 34 years of his career here, Cantor Einhorn has brought integrity, kindness, compassion, and a profound sense of professionalism to every task. We have benefited from his presence, musical artistry, and humor in everything he has done. He is loved by countless B'nei Mitzvah students and their families, children in the FJECC Preschool who storm the bima to hug him, and everyone who has sung in his choir or played in the band. His presence at thousands of life cycle events has brought comfort and joy. Time and again he has enriched our lives in myriad ways and we will certainly miss him. Happily, we do not have to say goodbye quite yet. For now, Cantor Einhorn's focus and ours is on his work in the congregation.

In the coming months, Rabbi Zecher will be launching a cantorial search process and we will keep you informed and involved. As much as we know that it will be impossible to replace Cantor Einhorn, we will strive to find someone who will keep Temple Israel a place filled with beautiful music.
