Reminder: No school for students on Oct. 14

Students will not attend schools this coming Monday, Oct. 14, which is designated as a staff development day (meaning teachers and staff members will be at campuses and offices). Schools will resume on their regular schedules the following day, Oct. 15.
Congratulations to Byron Nelson, Eaton homecoming kings and queens
Homecoming festivities remain ongoing, with Eaton High School finishing its events this week, including its homecoming game on Friday. Northwest High School will wrap up the district's homecoming slate next week, when it will host all its festivities. Photos from all three homecoming games and crowning ceremonies will be available on the district's Flickr account.

All our middle and high school bands played tremendous performances at the district's third annual Northwest ISD Band Showcase on Monday. Photos from the event can now be downloaded from the district's Flickr account at no charge.

Groundbreaking ceremony for district aquatics center held
Students and program leads break ground on the aquatics center
Progress is now underway on the Northwest ISD Aquatics Center, located in the school district's central complex, between Pike Middle School and the Box Agricultural Science Center (across from the administration building parking lot). The facility is expected to open in late 2020 or early 2021, and it will feature practice and competition pools as well as a sports training area and rehab area in partnership with Texas Health. Be sure to check out photos from the recent groundbreaking ceremony!
District magazine now available to read

The fall issue of Northwest ISD's district magazine, Northwest Navigator, is now available! This magazine features stories about unique and noteworthy news from across the district. Physical copies of the magazine recently arrived and will be sent to campuses soon. If you had a child featured in the magazine and would like to request a physical copy, email Anthony Tosie, communications specialist and magazine editor, at anthony.tosie@nisdtx.org.
Free upcoming events designed to help families, make college planning easier
District departments have many free events planned for the coming month, including events designed to help families and assist with college planning. Examples of upcoming events include a parenting workshop, college funding workshop, family strength workshop, love and logic course, and our annual college and career fair. Additionally, these events are posted on the district Facebook page where reminders can be set.
