Keeping it Local

O ur business is much more than just selling insurance, it is a way of life; which means long-term personal relationships being built with members of our community; it means supporting local businesses, events and sports teams; and it means making a difference in the lives of others.

"The PVI Pledge"

Pauma/Valley Insurance pledges to do everything we can to make your lives Safer, Simpler & more Secure.

PVI PROTECTION TEAM
"SAFETY TIP"

SHOPPING SAFETY

With all the crowds and distractions when shopping this time of year, it's particularly important to remember to protect your valuables. In addition to zipping your purse and closing compartments, if you place your purse in your shopping cart, it's a good practice to wrap the "child restraint belts" around your purse straps and fasten for extra safety.

PVI is An Award Winning Agency

Golden Standard

Look for us on
Valley Center Road

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through
the office,
The desks were
all quiet,
As PVI was
without us.

No phones,
no faxes,
No insurance claims filed,
"Take the day off,"
Brandon had said as he smiled.

To our cars
we all hurried,
Yes, we were hopping!
To get to the stores,
And finish our shopping!

Then home
to our families,
To enjoy our
time there,
Celebrating Christmas,
Making memories to share.

We'll be back
in the office,
When Christmas
is done,
The gift of
your business,
Makes our
jobs fun!

From Brandon
and Barni,
And the whole
PVI bunch
Valley Center's
the best,
That's more
than a hunch!

To our friends and our customers
We say
with  a cheer,
"Merry Christmas to all,
It's been
a great year!"

  Special Guest
Mark Latulippe
PVI is pleased to sponsor the monthly CAN (Community Action Network) meetings, and December 13th's meeting is going to be a special one you won't want to miss!

PVI is excited to highlight the Valley Center Community Aid Group (VCCAG)  VCCAG is the nonprofit organization started by the VC Real Estate Professionals to assist our neighbors in need.

The VCCAG presentation will include a  history and overview of VCCAG,  numerous ways VCCAG helps our neighbors in need and supports  our youth, and h ow YOU can participate, contribute and support VCCAG.

In addition to hearing a presentation from  VCCAG Mark Latulippe  will be sharing his family's personal story and how they were blessed by our community through the Group.

Big shout out to Lt. IT'S TIME TO WRAP UP
OUR FIRST ANNUAL  "I'M THANKFUL" CAMPAIGN

Why the big smiles on Brandon Strausbaugh's and Larry McKenzie's faces? Because of the wonderful response from the community for the "I'm Thankful" campaign launched by PVI to raise funds and awareness for the Valley Center Community Aid Group! (Of which Larry serves as President.)  Through your generosity, you have helped to ensure that those in need in our community will have a merrier Christmas!

Below are a few pictures of our community supporters:

John Yeager, Summit Mortgage

Kim Beukelman (First American Title) with a personal donation & John Yeager, VCCAG Treasurer

SPREADING CHRISTMAS "CHEERS" WITH OUR
PVI SIGNATURE DRINK FOR DECEMBER

First of all, thank you Valley Center for sharing the "buzz" about our new monthly coffee promotions with Spins Coffee Truck! Our premiere drink for November - Brandon's Buzz - featured at half priced, proved a honey of a deal!

With the success of last month's promotion, we are excited to announce PVI's Signature Drink of the Month for December!

A COLLECTION CENTER FOR "TOYS FOR TOTS"
Our Santa's helpers (Phyllis Knight and Brooke Beatty Dunn) are shown with a few donations that will bring smiles to children's faces this Christmas.

PVI was pleased to be a collection center for Toys for Tots, supporting the  Valley Center Chamber of Commerce's campaign this year!

If you would like to participate in this special charity, please bring your new, unwrapped toy(s) to PVI by Thursday, December 13th (between 8:30 am - 5: 30 pm).

Donations also can be brought to  the CAN (Community Action Network) meeting on Thursday, December 13th, or dropped off at the Chamber office.

Deadline for all donations is Thursday, December 13th.

CUSTOMER CORNER - B STROH'S CATERING AND EVENTS

If you have spent any time in Valley Center, you undoubtedly have run across Julie Stroh because when it comes to community involvement, Julie wrote the book! (But that's a story for another day.)

But what you might not know is that Julie is the premier caterer when it comes to all things Valley Center! From an intimate setting to large groups, from private affairs to public meetings, Julie is your "go to" caterer when you want that extra attention to detail, for which she is known.

Julie has catered numerous events for PVI, VC Chamber of Commerce, VCHS Jag Foundation and the list goes on...and on. She also specializes in large corporate events, weddings, theme parties, etc., and will coordinate the whole event!

As wonderful as Julie's creations are, the one thing that outshines them is Julie herself. Her "can do" attitude and tireless spirit make her a pleasure to work with and she inspires confidence and trust in the process.

So if this busy holiday season finds you needing a little assist in the kitchen (as Julie often gets from her devoted husband, Bryan), then be sure and give Julie a ring and find out what a jewel she really is!

For more information on B Stroh's Events and Catering, please email Julie or give her a call! 760-390-9277

PVI SAYS, "THANK YOU AND WE APPRECIATE YOU!"
Brandon Strausbaugh and Dave Bohorquez
It's always a pleasure to recognize our customers, especially when they do so much to support our community!

Darcy LaHaye and PVI's Justina Ossana
Another one of our favorite supporters of our community and PVI, is Darcy LaHaye, Valley Center Parks and Rec General Manager.

In her position, Darcy has the opportunity to work closely with those who are utilizing our local facilities and parks for numerous events and Darcy always refers her customers to local vendors and businesses for their needs, to keep it local.

On behalf of the local business community, thanks, Darcy!

THANKFUL TO CONTINUE FAMILY'S LEGACY
OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

One of the things that Brandon Strausbaugh takes great pride in is his family's legacy in his hometown. To honor his family's longstanding contributions and service to our community, it is Brandon's pleasure to follow in their footsteps. He does this in several ways, including serving on the Valley Center Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and he wanted to thank the business community for having just re-elected him to serve another term.

PVI LAUNCHES NEW VIDEO SERIES: "SIXTY SECONDS OF SAFETY" WITH VC FIRE CHIEF, JOE NAPIER

PVI is excited to launch a new video series with Valley Center Fire Chief, Joe Napier!

In these monthly videos, Chief Napier will share seasonal and/or topical information to help you better protect your home and family by being proactive and prepared.

Obviously, this month's topic is Christmas tree safety. Please click on the picture to hear Chief Napier's important tips.

Also, featured below is a dramatic video from Travelers Insurance which demonstrates the importance of keeping your Christmas tree hydrated. Please click the picture to view the video.

PASTOR BILL TROK - PVI'S COMMUNITY
VOLUNTEER
OF THE MONTH

As the saying goes, "If you want something done, ask a busy person," so it's no surprise that when the San Diego Sheriff's Chaplains Association needed someone to serve as Director that they asked  Bill Trok, because he is one busy man!

VC FIRE EXPLORERS MAKE SANTA'S "NICE" LIST
Pictured left to right are Michael Vega, Brad Tieger, Hayden Berkey,
Mrs. & Mr. Claus (who need no introduction), Naomi Chambers, John Stolec,
and Chayton Mercado

(Santa) hats off to the VC Fire Explorers! In addition to being committed to learning more about the "fire business" they also contribute numerous hours to community service, including spiffing up "Santa's sleigh (VC style) for their arrival at a charity function to hand out presents to children in our community who need a little extra Christmas right now. Please click here to see them in action.

Obviously, they couldn't do what they do without the great leadership and support from everyone at the Fire Department, so a shout out to all our firefighters as well!

It is our pleasure to work closely with the VC Fire Department to support their efforts.
PVI SUPPORTS OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT!
Phyllis Knight and Brandon Strausbaugh, PVI, presented a donation to Phil Bell, VC Fire Bd Chair, and  Chief Joe Napier at November's VC Chamber Sundowner.

As many of you know, the VCFPD worked tirelessly to promote Measure SS, something they really believed in - the ability to even better serve our community - and we support that! Although the Measure didn't pass, that doesn't detract from their efforts...nor the financial costs involved.

So with that in mind, it was PVI's pleasure to be able to ease some of the financial burden naturally associated with running any campaign, by making a donation to the Fire Department. We would love it if the community would join us in donations, if so inclined, to support our firefighters so they can continue to devote their efforts to doing what they do best - keeping our community safe!

Donations, which are tax deductible, can be dropped off at Fire Station 1, located at 28234 Lilac Rd, Valley Center, CA 92082, or mailed to the same address. Please make checks payable to Valley Center Fire Department Foundation.

"PRICELESS GIFTS"
By Brandon Strausbaugh,CIC, CPCU

When it comes to expressing our love at Christmastime, we all have different ways of showing it. From the small to the extravagant, from the homemade to the special ordered - thoughtfulness comes in different shapes and sizes, none more important than the other.

For many, jewelry is a popular choice. Although the thought that goes behind the purchase is priceless, the jewelry itself is not.

So if you find that Santa has left something sparkly under your tree this year, you'll want to keep in mind that expensive jewelry is not automatically covered by your homeowners insurance. To be sure, contact your insurance agent and verify that you are adequately covered, or increase your coverage if necessary.

Also, some insurance companies require reappraisals every three to five years for jewelry. With the increase in value of precious metals, in particular, jewelry that you have owned for some time could be at risk, if your coverage is not keeping up with its value. Again, your agent can assist you with your coverage needs.

Don't let the sparkle of your gift be tarnished by not having adequate insurance coverage in the event the jewelry is lost or stolen. Making sure you are adequately covered brings peace of mind, another priceless gift!

Merry
Christmas!
