For the  parents and families of St. Therese Chinese Catholic School

Sunday, April 19, 2020

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your family are well. As we enter the fifth week of remote learning, we continue to refine our e-learning curriculum. Please remember to check teacher pages for videos, links to resources, and important announcements. Thank you for ensuring your child is attending interactive sessions, completing assignments on time, and encouraging your child to contact teachers for help during our office hours of 9 am to 3 pm. Some teachers have zoom sessions for students who can benefit from individual support.

We have prepared a  FAQ document  to respond to questions you might have concerning our school during this uncertain time. Please keep in mind our FAQ responses are based on current conditions and best-recommended practices. As things change, we will update this FAQ document and alert you through email and our website.

Thank you if you have already completed your child(ren)'s re-registration for the 2020-2021 school year. If you haven't re-registered yet, please do so as soon as possible. Re-registration must be completed by Wednesday, April 22 in order to qualify for the early registration discount and to guarantee a place at St. Therese next school year. Re-registration is also important for our planning for teachers, staff, and educational resources for the next school year. If you need financial assistance, please reach out to me at  [email protected] .

Here is  our latest video  from the faculty and staff. We miss seeing all of our students. When the stay at home order is lifted and it is safe to return to the school buildings, we will arrange a day and time for students to meet with the teachers and staff before the summer break.

The Office of Catholic Schools has video lessons available on the  ChiCathSchools YouTube Channel  (you may recognize some familiar teachers here) and created a  family resource  page.

Here is  the link to the Sunday mass with Fr. Li.   I would like to also invite you and your family to the first all  Catholic School virtual Mass  on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

Take care, stay home, stay safe, and stay strong,
Ms. Lisa Deborah Oi
Principal
A Special Prayer

Prayer has not been canceled

So much has been and will continue to be, for some time, canceled; sports events, concerts, plays, worship services, rallies, travel, meetings, classes and so much more.

However, Love has not been canceled.

Mercy has not been canceled.

Prayer has not been canceled.

Attentiveness has not been canceled.

Goodness has not been canceled.

Thanksgiving has not been canceled.

Loving relationships have not been canceled.

Kindness has not been canceled.

Music has not been canceled.

Conversations have not been canceled.

Learning has not been canceled.

Poetry and storytelling have not been canceled.

Courage has not been canceled.

Meditation and contemplation have not been canceled.

Painting and dancing have not been canceled.

Families have not been canceled.

Community and solidarity have not been canceled.

Faith has not been canceled.

Hope has not been canceled.

And God's presence with us has not been canceled.

Amen.
