PCSD Board of Education Considering 19'-20'Calendar to Include 3 Additional Early Release Days
The PCSD Board of Education is considering adding three additional early release days to the 2019-2020 school calendar. The release time was proposed by the Collaborative Problem Solving Process group of employees in order to provide sorely-needed collaboration time for teachers and para-educators.

In his explanation to the Board regarding these early release days, PCSD Superintendent Mike Schmidt stated that teachers and para-professionals would use the additional time to do deep data analysis, collegial grading, curriculum alignment, and collegial unit planning. The time could also be used for additional training. Mr. Schmidt indicated that the early release days would include structured educationally-related activities for those students whose parents could not pick them up from school. Buses would run at normal times in order to minimize disruption to PCSD families.

The Board and Mr. Schmidt would appreciate community feedback (students, staff, parents) on this proposal prior to the Holiday Break. To provide feedback, please e-mail Mrs. Katie Spodyak, PCSD Board President at kspodyak@pcsdk12.org or Mike Schmidt at mschmidt@pcsdk12.org .
