Please put them in the box by the fireplace. If you have any questions, contact Elise Caplan, 301-646-7130.
On Display at Adat Shalom
A unique exhibit open to the public-on loan from Ethel Kessler
" I was a designer for the United States Information Agency in 1978, when I was asked to oversee the design and production of a post er series honoring the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  According to the mission of USIA, these posters were distributed to all US embassies and cultural centers abroad, never in the US.  To my knowledge, this is the last remaining set of these posters.  I hope you'll find them engaging." We thank Ethel for lending these posters on exhibit. We also thank Sue Dorfman and
the many Adat Shalom members for their reflections on this 70th anniversary of the the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The exhibit will remain through December.

Prayer Through Movement Wants You

We invite all members of Adat Shalom to enhance our Shabbat services spiritually and creatively by participating in  a series of  movement sessions exploring the connection of the body and spirit and the creative process.  You don't need to be a "dancer" to participate.  Movement through prayer is an opportunity for anyone in our congregation to engage in several sessions working with others to create a dance.  Diane DeFries,  a professional dance teacher and choreographer, will guide us in a collaborative process.

This is a short-term commitment of 6 sessions plus a rehearsal.  The sessions will take place after Shabbat Onegs on the following dates: Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26, Feb. 2, and 9, 2019  from 1:15-3:15.  The rehearsal will be February 13 at 6:30 pm. The culmination of this experience will be shared with the congregation at Shabbat Services, February 16, 2019.
Please contact Malka Kutnick.
