Friday Edition
It's the kick-off to the weekend! Here's some information and ideas to make your weekend time at home fun, productive and entertaining.
Missing Broadway? Enjoy the Music at Home
With Broadway marquees dark and local theaters shuttered, a musical theater fix doesn't come as easy as it once did. Check out these original Broadway cast recording albums from Hoopla Digital. To access Hoopla on your mobile device, you will need to visit hoopladigital.com or download the free Hoopla Digital app from the App Store on your Android or IOS device. Simply sign up to get started. You will need your Wilton Library card number to set up your account.
Learn to Zentangle with Wilton Library's own Certified Instructor
Learn to Zentangle with a series of new video tutorials with Wilton Library's own librarian Amy Lilien-Harper, a certified Zentangle instructor. The Zentangle method is a relaxing, meditative art form that uses a series of simple steps to create beautiful patterns. All you need to become a Zentangle artist is the ability to draw a few simple strokes and a willingness to try. It is a lovely way to get focused and create something beautiful at this difficult time. Cheers! Booze & Baseball History is Here in Wilton
Take five minutes this weekend to learn about an aspect of Wilton's history you may not be familiar with. These videos are courtesy of the Wilton Historical Society and brought to you by Associate Curator Nick Fosterwatch.
Streaming National Theatre Productions at Home
Longing for the theater? London’s National Theatre is now bringing its productions home to you. Thanks to the NT Live series, the venerable theatre has a treasure trove of recordings of past productions and now is streaming one play per week for free on YouTube. Every Thursday a new play is posted; this week is Jane Eyre. Plays remain on demand for seven days. The theatre is also posting various Q&As and other reading material on its site for those who enjoy historical context. Learn more here.
