Update from NACE President Rich Sanders 


The last three weeks of November 25 thru December 11 has been a blur. My mind doesn't know whether it is in the Eastern, Central or Western Time Zone.

A week in San Diego for the County Engineers Association of California Conference. Then four days in Savannah, GA for the Rural Road Safety Summit. Then three days in Columbus OH for the County Engineers Association of Ohio.

All three conferences were awesome.

I wanted to thank Jeff Pratt and the County Engineers of California for their hospitality. Spent some time with Scott McGolpin, NACE Secretary Treasurer and others enjoying the San Diego weather. 75 and sun in late November was tough to deal with after the coldest fall in recent history in Minnesota, which included October snow and cold temperatures. One of the highlights was the CLOD's barbeque. Chicken, beef, baked beans and playing Rural vs Urban County Engineer Family Feud. Of course, the Rural team won...

Join us in Wichita for NACE Zoobilee on Tuesday, April 16!
Lions, Tigers & Bears- Oh My! Bring your dancing shoes and your sense of adventure to a one-of-a-kind wild night at the Sedgwick County Zoo for NACE Zoobilee!

Grab a drink and explore attractions housing 3,000 individual animals of nearly 400 species including a boat ride under the bridge that leads to the Downing Gorilla Forest, float past lemur island, and cruise by the Elephants of the Zambezi River Valley habitat.  
 
As the sun sets, the party for Zoobilee will get started with one of Wichita's most rocking bands- Big Fat Fun! 

Details:
Time: 6:00pm - 10:00pm (buses will loop from the hotels to the Zoo throughout the evening)
Zoo exhibits close at 8:00 pm
Dress: Casual. This is a rain or shine event. The pavilion is covered, but consider bringing a light jacket for the evening.

For zoo enthusiasts, an early bus will leave the Hyatt at 5pm on April 16th.
