Regional Reports
Alberta Report
It has been a very stressful and trying time for many courses across Alberta as we start winter. Unfortunately, snow and rain combined with warm temperatures have once again caused ice formation. Many courses have been out trying to remove and minimize the amount of ice before the cold winter temps set in. When we talk about climate change, we are seeing first-hand that there are slight changes taking place. Regular rain in November seems to be the new normal, and many superintendents are using as many techniques they can think of to prevent ice buildup. Let’s hope the warm stretch lasts just long enough for everyone to get their properties clear.
Ontario Report
This past fall in Ontario has made for challenging conditions for Superintendents across the province. Consistent cool, wet, windy environments combined with earlier than normal snowfalls made it difficult for Superintendents to winterize their golf courses.

The OGSA conference will be held at a new and exciting venue. The 2019 conference will be held at Blue Mountain from January 15-18 with the annual AGM being held on January 16.
