Yesterday in Children's Worship we talked about baptism since the  children got to see it in the service and celebrate with Abby and  Mark.

This week (12/16), we will not have elementary Bible Life or  Children's Worship due to the Christmas Musical occurring during both  worship hours. On 12/16, all pre-k classes will be available. We will  not have Bible Life or Children's Worship on 12/23 due to a family- friendly service during both worship hours. On 12/23 only nursery care  (birth through 18 months) will be available.

Wednesday night (12/12) is our last AWANA for the year. We will have  our Christmas celebration. AWANA will resume on January 9th.

Chuck Green is our new adult Bible Life director!  We have a Bible Life leadership team that helps me lead adult BL.  Now with Chuck I have a lay-leader of this team and of our Bible Life ministry!  Please thank him for taking this assignment!

This Spring, our core seminar training continues!  We had good participation in our Christian history class led by Bill Deane and folks were blessed on Sunday afternoons this fall!  We will offer that again possibly as soon as this coming fall.  We badly need to know what we believe and how we came to these beliefs.

Before that we had Old Testament survey led by Bill Kramer which blessed those who took it.

This Spring--starting January 20--I will be leading a class: New Testament Background and Survey.  Once you learn the cultural background to the New Testament, it will help you understand as you read the New Testament.

Would you be helped by a survey of each book of the New Testament?  To know the main issues behind each book, the audience, the author and the outline--the New Testament will come more accessible to your understanding.   Sign up starts soon!

This Sunday, December 16 we will have a girls night out and a guys night out for our College & Career group.  Contact me for questions: david@hayshills.com

CLC News

"For unto us a child is born." Isaiah 9:6   We love Christmas time at the Christian Learning Center because we are able to focus on the true meaning of Christmas:  JESUS!  In our classrooms, the children have been playing with nativity sets and acting out the Christmas story, and they love to take care of Baby Jesus!  They are also learning how to be kind to others in the learning centers by "baking" goodies for their friends and decorating Christmas trees together.  Our classrooms have also been making Christmas ornaments to give to others, most specifically for the residents at Marbridge.  It is so touching to see Christmas through a child's eyes!

In chapel we are continuing to teach the children about the nativity story and the birth of Jesus.  The older children have been practicing very hard learning their songs and their parts in our upcoming nativity play.  One of their favorite songs they love to sing is "Go, Tell It on the Mountain", and you should hear them shout the good news!

We would love to invite you to come and experience the true meaning of Christmas at 12:00 on December 18 if you are able!

May you be blessed this week!
From Pastor Aaron

What a great Sunday we had celebrating in baptism with Joe & Rosanna Martin, Loretta Wilson, Matthew & Betty Rose Trant, Abigail Whittaker, and Mark Martinez! What a testimony to the redeeming love of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the work Jesus continues to do in and through us.

You won't want to miss Sunday as our music ministry leads us in worship as they present this year's Christmas Musical, "The King is Here."
