Advent and Christmas

Dear Parents,
The weeks of Advent remind us to set aside some of the hectic business of the holiday season, and to quietly reflect on the promise of the baby born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago.

In the Church year, Advent is our new beginning and a welcome opportunity to center ourselves amid the hubbub. The familiar decorations that we see around us can actually help us teach kids about the coming of Christ at Christmas. Stockings, lights, stars, wrapped packages, candles, bells, candy canes, holly, wreaths, poinsettias - all of these things have Christian meaning.
Take a few minutes to check out the links below as you and your family journey through the season of Advent. As always, click the blue, underlined links for resources and videos.
Parents are invited to participate in a small discussion group on Advent this Wednesday, December 12 and next Wednesday as well, at 6:30 in room 1307.
