CORE Performance Measurement Survey

As we prepare to roll out SCORE Engage, we want to make sure we are meeting your needs with SCORE Engage as a Product. To do this, we need to benchmark customer satisfaction with CORE overall as well as for CORE's support of key business processes. This data will allow us, once users are on SCORE Engage, to evaluate and compare the two systems as a set of integrated tools supporting business processes.

The survey will only take about 5 minutes to complete.  Thank you for your feedback.

Coming in January: Launch of the Startup Roadmap™

January 2020 marks the full public launch of the SCORE Startup Roadmap. The Roadmap will be promoted through the SCORE website, emails, and social media. In advance of this exciting launch, here are 4 things to know:
  1. You can access the Startup Roadmap now. You can access and use this tool on SCORE.org. Take a look and feel free to start using the materials to enrich your mentoring sessions.
    1. Client Startup Roadmap
    2. Roadmap Mentor Guide - Find this in the SCORE Store in the eGuides and Workbooks section.
  2. We are refining the navigation in time for January launchTo make the Roadmap easier to navigate, we are breaking the client guide into chapters that can be accessed individually.
  3. We will host Startup Roadmap training webinars. Join a live webinar to learn more about the tool including how to access it, how to use it in mentoring sessions, and how to help clients use it.  Dates and times will be announced soon!
  4. You can participate in the Startup Roadmap chapter challenge. To drive strong early adoption of the Startup Roadmap, we have a spirited chapter challenge coming your way! We will award two $500 chapter grants to chapters that achieve the highest adoption rates of the Startup Roadmap.
The contest will run from January 1 - March 31, 2020. Chapters can earn the grant in one of two categories:
  • Most unique new clients using the Startup Roadmap or
  • Highest percentage (%) of chapter client base using the Startup Roadmap.
Questions and feedback on the Startup Roadmap can be directed to [email protected].

Diversity & Inclusion Highlight - All-Spanish SCORE Chicago Workshop

Congratulations to SCORE Chicago for their part in facilitating and presenting an all-Spanish workshop entitled "Alternativas de Negocios para Empresarios".  Alfonso Barrera (right), Vice-Chair of Diversity & Inclusion, delivered an excellent, two-hour all-Spanish presentation.

Hannah Fernandez (second from left), Chapter Chair, said, "It was great to witness firsthand the attendees deeply engaged, listening, and asking several thoughtful questions.  The experience underscored the importance of recruiting more diverse, bilingual SCORE Chicago mentors to serve the growing women-owned and minority-owned businesses across our various Chicago neighborhoods."
National Chapter of the Year Information

The National Chapter of the Year is the highest annual recognition for chapters in SCORE.  We are currently updating the electronic submission location to be used for FY2019.  Once complete, we will share via an email communication as well as post in the Volunteer Center.

At this time, the tentative dates for the process are as follows:
  • Submissions due to SCORE HQ - January 31, 2020
  • Selection process completed - March 31, 2020
  • COTY Winner announced - April 2020
Chapters interested in applying for this award should begin reviewing their FY2019 performance and collecting information that highlights their impact for the year, both internally and to the community.  Look out for a follow up email within the next week with more information and a finalized submission timeline.

As always, thanks for all that you do!

Detailed Receipts Please
Please remember to submit readable, itemized receipts from any restaurant for meals on any expense reports.  This policy was announced at the NLC in August. Any alcohol purchases need to be a separate check with a separate receipt submitted.  Alcohol and any restaurant reimbursement without an itemized receipt will only be reimbursed from unrestricted funds if available.
