Aims to Overcome Learning Barriers
“You really get to know these kids on a personal level,” expressed Mr. Beukelman. “The focus is always individual student need, and from there we’re able to tailor their education and realign their personal goals to overcoming their past and looking toward a brighter future.”

A large contributor to the school’s strategic plan for overcoming student learning barriers is the student success program known as Directive Studies.
168 Students Earn State Seal of Biliteracy
Supporting multiple language tools for students to become engaged members in the global society, Manteca Unified applauds 168 high school students who will graduate with a gold Seal of Biliteracy.

The Seal of Biliteracy is a state seal that recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing one or more languages in addition to English, and marked by a gold seal on the student’s diploma.

In MUSD, this year is a 38% increase in number of state seal graduates when compared to 2019 and a 61% increase from 2016!

District Art Show!
The 2021 virtual “Best of the Best” Student Art Exhibit was put on display May 10th! The art show, which will be hosted online through May 28th, takes place each spring with student artists showcasing their skills.

Traditionally, these works are featured throughout the MUSD District Office for an in-person event, but the art show took on a virtual medium for the 2020-21 school year!

"JOY" Art Contest Winner Announced!
Manteca Unified Superintendent Dr. Clark Burke was filled with JOY when visiting Stella Brockman Elementary School to recognize district art contest winner Kailee Eakle!

The “JOY” Art Contest took place in April, and Kailee’s artwork was selected as the winner by a panel of District Office administrators who not only loved her design, but deeply appreciated the message she conveyed. Kailee’s design was digitally reformatted by the Community Outreach team and made into a button pin that is being distributed to all MUSD staff.

The event was attended by Community Outreach Director and Public Information Officer Victoria Brunn, Stella Brockman Principal Candace Espinola, Kailee's teacher Christina Hansen, and Kailee’s mother Joleen, a Stella Brockman teacher.

Kailee was presented her “JOY” button pin by Dr. Burke and was given an extra button to pin on her mother as an MUSD educator.

Congratulations Kailee!

Meet the Manteca Unified School Nurses!
May 12, 2021 was School Nurse Day in MUSD
This incredible team of health professionals played a vital role in keeping our schools safe during a pandemic. We want to take a moment to express our utmost appreciation to our dedicated team of school nurses.

In a typical year, school nurses keep track of health records, organize an annual flu clinic, assist students with chronic conditions in their day-to-day needs, perform health assessments related to IEP's, and vision and hearing screenings for specific grade levels.

And this year, in addition to their typical duties, a team of nurses known as the "COVID Team” managed the necessary contact tracing and school visits relating to a COVID concern.
