Hello everyone and thank you for participating in Jesuit Week of Service!
Today would have been the actual day of Jesuit Day of Service (JDOS). Our goal was to bring the JCU community together in a virtual way and to serve our communities, and we did just that!
This week we had so many amazing submissions from all of you, from dancing to a children’s song to showing love to students, and showing appreciation and love to healthcare and frontline workers during this crisis. We had over 260 people sign up for Jesuit Week of Service including current students, faculty and staff, alumni, friends and family of the JCU community, and even incoming first-year students! That is an amazing accomplishment and we thank you for helping us make it happen.
We would like to thank all those who helped make Jesuit Week of Service a success. First, the amazing staff at CSSA. Carolina who beautifully designed the posts and emails, Lisa who’s great ideas and positivity got many of you registered, and Maryellen who’s leadership and off-campus connections helped us reach many areas we have never been able to for JDOS.
We’d also like to thank our JDOS Student Leadership Team. Thank you to Danny, Sophie, Mark, Alana, Regina, Ryan, Calvin, Ben, Caroline, Erin, and Jill for their great community partner spotlights! Also, thank you to the our sustainability interns who challenged and informed us this week. Thanks to Caitlin, Kaylee, Maria, and Pat!
What an awesome week we had and we are grateful for your participation. We look forward to seeing some of you at next year’s JDOS and we hope you all stay safe and positive during these tough times.
Much love, thank you!
