IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM FR. MICHAEL
Greetings Parish Family! He is Risen, Alleluia!!
I hope you all are doing as well as possible in this strange time, as it drags on and on. There are brighter days ahead!!! Do not surrender your hope!
Just yesterday, Bishop Joel, the administrator of the Archdiocese until Bishop Hartmayer is installed, sent out an update. I'll highlight the main points and how they apply to us here.
- Public Masses and other Sacraments are still suspended until the lifting of the "stay-in-place" order, now slated for April 30. This includes drive-up confessions and outdoor adoration.
- All Religious Education and Faith Formation classes are still suspended.
- FIRST COMMUNION -- We were scheduled to have First Communion on Saturday, May 2, but that will have to be postponed indefinitely. We will set a date as soon as we are able!
- The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available in the case of emergency only (pending death) and both priest and penitent must abide by all safety protocols while ensuring the absolute confidentiality of the Sacrament. For us, if you or someone in your family is in danger of dying, PLEASE call the emergency line (see top of email for number) and let me know! We can determine the best course of action to care for their soul.
As of now, I am hoping to host First Friday Adoration on May 1, the day after the "stay-in-place" order expires. We'll keep our eyes and ears attentive to the state and Archdiocesan updates.
Many folks have asked how to help those in great need during this time of hardship. If you go to our On-Line Giving page and click "Give a New Gift," you will then see a list of all the current collections we are taking. Giving to St. Vincent de Paul ensures that anyone who comes to our exceptional SVdP team will be given assistance and respect. Giving to "Souper Bowl of Caring" distributes your financial gift to the food pantries in all three of the counties in our parish. The link for for online giving is:
https://www.osvonlinegiving.com/626. You can be Christ's hands, His feet, His heart!
In the meantime, if you haven't seen it already, I made the below video titled "Brighter Days" as a tribute to you all. Know that I greatly miss having you at Mass, at coffee and donuts, meetings, hanging around!
Happy Easter, and God Bless!
St. Corona, patroness of those suffering from pandemics, PRAY FOR US!
Peace in Christ,
FrM

Second Sunday of Easter
Divine Mercy Sunday
“Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’” (John 20:19)
Are you good at making people feel welcome? When you meet someone new, like a new neighbor, a new work colleague or a new parishioner, do you make them feel at home? Many of us can probably do a much better job at this. When we make people feel welcome, we make them feel like they are included instead of being excluded. We are made for relationships – with God and each other. A simple “hello” and a smile goes a long way.

Lord, grant us your grace to hear what you are trying to teach us and to allow your grace to let those lessons change us.

"The Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue,"
On Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion, we hear the Suffering Servant of Isaiah declare, “The Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue, that I might know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them.” Now more than ever, we, too, are called to speak to the weary the words of life, faith, and mercy, the Word who is Jesus. This is the inspiration for this month’s issue of Impact. Written in a time when many dioceses have suspended public liturgies through Easter, this issue of Impact invites people to reflect on the Paschal Mystery now, at this moment, and to ask themselves how they might allow Christ to speak to them, and how they may speak Christ to others. Blessings to you and your people - Leisa Anslinger

Prayer of Petition:
In our journey as a faith-filled community during our Year of Service, may we all heed Jesus’ call to love one another. May we show our love by sacrificial acts of service in our families, parish and communities.
Let us pray to the Lord…
How can we serve each other during the self-isolation? Some ideas:
·
Call folks who are alone and may be feeling more isolated.
·
Say thank you to employees of essential services.
·
Contribute to a food bank.
·
Sew some masks for those who need them.
·
Wear a mask when you go outside.
·
Let Father Michael know how much he is appreciated.
·

COKAS Respect Life Ministry
According to Live Action News, the Abortion Industry is attempting to capitalize on the COVD-19 pandemic to expand abortion.
The abortion industry has managed to coordinate efforts with Massachusetts government officials to normalize abortion as an ‘essential’ procedure during the COVID-19 pandemic.
