ACT REVIEW COURSE OFFERED
Mrs. Maloof will offer an extended ACT review this summer for current juniors (rising seniors) who will be taking the test in the Fall. Please email her at molly.maloof@bishophartley.org if you are interested in the course.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SELECTIONS CONTINUE
The NHS selections process is almost finished. Students who applied should watch their Bishop Hartley email for a notification letter. All students will be notified of their status once the process is complete. Please note, due to scheduling, final notifications may arrive after school is out.
MENINGITIS VACCINE FOR RISING SENIORS
Junior parents should be aware that all students entering 12th grade are now required by state law to be fully vaccinated against meningitis on or before their Senior year (ORC 3313.671).

The meningococcal vaccine helps to protect your child against meningitis, a deadly infection of the covering of the brain and spinal cord. Parents / Guardians of incoming seniors must provide the school with documentation from a health care provider on or before the first day of school indicating that the student has been fully vaccinated against meningitis.

A single dose of Menactra or Meneveo vaccine should be given at age 11 through 12 with a booster dose at age 16 years. If the first dose is administered at age 16 through 18 a booster is not needed. (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control)

If you have any questions about this policy or if you are unsure if your child has met this requirement please contact your HCP or Regina Hinterschied RN, School Nurse 614 237-5421 Ex. 10629 or email rhinterschied4163@columbus.k12.oh.us.

Thank you for attention to this important health matter.
PROM RECAP
The senior prom event on Saturday, May 15 was a tremendous success! Students played games in the courtyard and then enjoyed dinner and even a little dancing afterward in the TACC.

Thanks to faculty and staff who chaperoned the event, and special thanks to Mrs. Andrea Klein, Ms. Cara Rezabek, Ms. Liz Collette, and Mrs. Heather Rush who worked to plan the event.
HONORS ASSEMBLY VIDEOS
This year, since we were not able to host our usual event for underclassman honors and awards, we have created virtual events which are posted on our YouTube channel.

Special thanks to the School Counseling Department, Mrs. Janice Zielinski, and Mr. Andrew Jahahn for their efforts to help us recognize these deserving students. The videos for freshman, sophomores, and juniors can be found here.
GRADUATION REMINDERS

The big day is fast approaching for our seniors! Here are some reminders for graduation and baccalaureate:

  • Graduates gather in The Dick Geyer Gymnasium by 8 a.m.
  • Families are asked to arrive together to reduce the number of cars in the parking lot and enable us to start Mass on time.
  • No heels permitted due to new turf and track (includes students, family members, faculty/staff).
  • Everyone must wear a mask.
  • Please see the graduation contract for more details regarding dress and behavior.
  • Rain dates are Sunday, May 30 and Monday, May 31.
EVENING OF EXCELLENCE THANK YOU!
Special thanks to all who supported our 30th annual Evening of Excellence. With your generous giving and extraordinary support, we exceeded our fundraising goal by 23%. At a time, when we needed your support the most, you stepped forward to support the Hawks.

Hartley’s first virtual auction celebrates our highest net income after expenses and the most sponsors in the last 30 years, which surpassed all expectations. We had a total number of 233 mobile bidders who were generous supporters of Hartley. All of the proceeds help our students with needs-based tuition assistance and merit-based scholarships.

Thank you to our generous sponsors, volunteers, mobile bidders and those who viewed the live stream of our first virtual auction event. We could not have done it without all of you. You made it a special and successful evening!

Participants enjoyed their party in crate, listened to music by students, enjoyed historical pictures, reminisced with Hartley’s alma mater and trivia questions, and celebrated Hartley’s traditions, legends and legacies. We watched the “fast talking” Auctioneer Chris Davis and talented Emcee, Matt Barnes with Hartley students Emma Guess and Stuart Landry. Father Fulton opened the evening with a prayer and kicked off the auction with a Splatter Park Paintball excursion with Father. Other live auction items included vacation destinations, a private catering murder mystery party, a home improvement package, and more.

We concluded the evening with the announcement of our $3,000 raffle winner and the announcement of the The Michael Winter’s Scholarship Fund. This new scholarship will be awarded annually to an incoming freshman with outstanding leadership qualities and an excellent academic record.

If you missed the opportunity to give, it’s not too late. Send a check to Brenda Murdock at Bishop Hartley or give online by clicking here.
