Open your heart with Expansive Breath
Keep everything moving with this vigorous breathing exercise
Expansive Breath

  • Stand with feet about hip-width apart, knees slightly bent.
  • (fig. 1) Inhale through your mouth and open your arms wide, palms open with fingertips pointing away from you.
  • Lift the chin and look up.
  • (fig. 2) Exhale through your mouth as you bend forward at the waist, hands in prayer position in front of the chest.
  • Tuck your chin and lower your head, taking care to keep the neck in line with the spine.
  • Repeat up to 12 times, increasing the pace as your muscles warm up and loosen.
