City Manager Announces Appointment of Arts & Recreation Director

Mill Valley City Manager Alan Piombo announced at the Mill Valley City Council meeting on Monday evening the appointment of Sean McGrew to the position of Director of Arts and Recreation. McGrew stepped into the Interim Director role after former Director Jenny Rogers departed in early 2020.

“During his many years in Recreation, Sean has demonstrated visionary and collaborative leadership and the ability to lead and motivate staff, as well as working with a diverse workforce and community,” City Manager Piombo said. “Please join me in congratulating Sean on his promotion.” Read the entire article.
COVID-19 Update
Marin’s vaccination rates remain the highest in the state, and the county has seen a steady decline in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths as vaccination rates continue to increase.

Marin Launches Vaccine Incentive, Encourages All to Participate in State Lottery - With the deadline to participate in the State of California’s “Vax for the Win” program just around the corner, Marin County Public Health is urging all remaining unvaccinated residents to get vaccinated this week for a chance to win the big prize. In addition, the County will supplement the state’s vaccine lottery by offering a local vaccine incentive. Learn more.

Mill Valley Police Department

Mill Valley Police Department Transportation Assistance Program - Over the past year, Mill Valley has seen a considerable increase in those experiencing homelessness and the need for assistance. As one way to help, MVPD has purchased bus passes through Golden Gate Transit to distribute to community members in need. Each pass is good for one-time use within Marin County. The program is not a means to relocate those in need, rather to provide people with transportation to the services they may require. Learn more.

Naloxone, aka. Narcan: What is It, and Why Might I Need It? Naloxone, sold under the brand name Narcan among others, is a medication used to block the effects of opioids. By administering naloxone during an overdose, it can greatly increase the chance of survival, by counter-acting the effects of the opioid drug. Learn more.
