Soe Yu Nwe, ’13, Named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 List
The Myanmar-born ceramic artist received her M.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design after obtaining her bachelor's from Albion College. Since graduating from Albion just five years ago, Nwe's works already have been displayed in several U.S. cities as well as in China, the Philippines, Taiwan and Australia. Learn more…
Rebecca McLaughlin, ’14, Realizing Her Dream of Becoming a Novelist
McLaughlin has wanted to be a novelist since she was a kid. Through hard work, trial and error and a belief in herself, she is on her way. Her young-adult fantasy book The Nameless Queen is set to be published by a major publishing house next year. "It blew me away," she said. Learn more…
College’s Sexual Assault Prevention Efforts Bolstered by State Grant
Albion College’s Division of Student Affairs received two grants last week, totaling $71,030, from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Campus Sexual Assault Grant Program. A grant of $41,030 will support campus sexual assault prevention programming, including the Green Dot Bystander Intervention program. Another grant of $30,000 will support upgrades to the Campus Safety security camera system, including the installation of additional cameras. Learn more…
Remembering Albion Veterans
Professor of history Wesley Arden Dick and First-Year Seminar students recently visited Washington, D.C., to recognize Albion College students who served and died in "The Great War," which eventually became known as World War I and which ended with the Armistice on November 11, 1918. The group also recognized those from Albion and Albion College who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War II and Vietnam. Learn more…
