Cypress Creek High School

If you have a student at Cypress Creek, I hope that you have found a few minutes to review your student's progress report for the first nine weeks. We only publish these four times per year and this one is of particular importance in that we don't want any of our Bears to slip behind early in the semester. These may be accessed via the Skyward Family Access system.

A huge congratulations to Mrs. Constantino for being nominated as our 2020-2021Teacher of the Year and to to Ms. Paez for being nominated as our 2020-2021 Support Person of the Year! These are major career accomplishments and are based upon the input of their peers. Should you happen to interact with either in the coming days on campus or online, please take a moment to extend congratulations. They are both very deserving and we are extremely proud of their success!

Please remember that on Monday we are having our PTSA meeting online via Zoom - details / please register here. If you are a member of our school community I invite and encourage you to participate.

As always, you will find some important and helpful material inside this edition. Please take care to note any deadline dates. Stay safe and have a Beartastic week!

Cypress Creek High School Clinic Information
The clinic at CCHS is staffed by a full time Registered Nurse and a Health Assistant. Clinic hours are from 7:10am - 2:20pm. Parents are required to complete the Emergency Information Form each year and provide current working phone numbers for all listed contacts. Chronic medical conditions such as, but not limited to, asthma, diabetes, or life threatening allergies should be discussed at the beginning of the school year with the school nurse and health assistant.

Medication procedures:

Due to COVID-19, calls must be made from the classroom or by appointment before visiting the Clinic.

PARENTS must bring the medication to school and complete the authorization form.

If a student needs to take medication during the school day, the following procedures must be followed:
  • ALL medication must be administered by the school nurse or a designated trained individual.
  • Whenever possible, medication should be taken at home.
  • Prescription medications must be in the original pharmacy labeled container.
~ Parents can ask their pharmacist to provide them with two containers:
one for school and one for home.
~ Medications including eye drops cannot be transferred to and from school.
  • Over the counter medications (Tylenol, Motrin, and Midol for example) will only be accepted in the original factory sealed container.
  • Inhalers, diabetic supplies, and Epi-pens may be carried by the student, provided the proper authorization forms are on file with the school. These forms require a physician's signature and are available from the school nurse.
To set up an appointment, contact Ms. Metz at (407)-852-3400 (Ext. 6032641) or by email at [email protected] OR Ms. Cannon at (407)-852-3400 (Ext. 6032388) or by email at [email protected]

CCHS Clubscchsclubs

Club sponsors are working hard to make sure that their clubs are still up-and-running this year, despite not being on campus. We want to make sure every kid on campus has the opportunity to be a part of something special, and with 59 clubs this year they have a lot of choices!

Science with Mrs. Clarady
Mrs. Clarady's students in class and at home watching a video of a case in Australia in 1980. Students then participated in a led discussion regarding the evidence, the nature of the case, and the errors made by Forensic analysts. Mrs. Clarady used a feature within BBB to allow students both at home and in class to view the video simultaneously.
