Festive Dusk in the Parish House,
with Paul and Michele!

Join Paul & Michele tonight for a Festive Dusk in the Parish House.   As well as an opportunity for us to feel the Christmas spirit, Michele and Paul are providing the catering for the evening as way of them extending their recent wedding celebrations and to thank their St Bernard's family. Please let Michele and Paul know if there are any special dietary requirements: [email protected] .
Advent Formation opportunity
Continues this Sunday!

Continuing this Sunday, join us for a four week Advent series on  Journeying the Way of Love held after coffee hour on  Sundays Dec 9, 16, 23 , in the Church.
All ages are welcome!!

Using our Advent readings from the Gospel of Luke we will explore how we can live the Way of Love as individuals, as families and friends, as a community, and out in the world. An accompanying Advent Calendar (click on link below for a Calendar) encourages us to engage in actions that help us Turn, Learn, Prayer, Worship, Bless, Go, and Rest.

Reach out to Pastor Beth with any questions, [email protected] or 908-766-0602.

Christmas Flower and Music Donations

Dear parishioners and friends of St. Bernard's Episcopal Church,

What a blessing to follow Thanksgiving with the season of Advent! During Advent, we look for ways to deepen our relationship with God and with one another as we await the birth of Christ, that amazing in-breaking of God and God's love into the world.

Come prepare yourself for Christ's birth by spending time with one another at St. Bernard's. Our Holy Eucharist is held each Sunday at 10 a.m. During worship, children and youth are invited to color an Advent poster on a Gospel of Luke theme: Mary's Song. Or you can stop by during the week to color, pray, or find peace. The church is open from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Every Christmas we celebrate with beautiful music and flowers. Our marvelous choir will sing at both Christmas Eve services, the 5 p.m. Family Carol Eucharist and the 8 p.m. Festal Choral Eucharist. On Christmas Day, we celebrate with Holy Eucharist and Carols at 10 a.m. Here at St. Bernard's we look forward to welcoming your family, friends, and you at Christmas.

If you would like to contribute to our Christmas celebrations through a special gift for music and/or flowers, perhaps in memory or honor of a loved one, please return the form (click this link for form) to the parish office or drop it in the offering plate by December 18, 2018. If you are donating by check, please note "Flower/ Music Fund" in the Memo line. Thank you very much for your generosity.

Advent blessings,

The Rev. Beth Rauen Sciaino
Priest-in-Charge

ShopRite patrons donated very generously to our collection for our friends at Grace's Kitchen in Plainfield. Be prepared for any kind of weather - nothing stops us!

Thank you for giving an hour or two of your time to this effort, all ages are welcome.
We will bag up the food this Sunday after coffee hour in advance of its distribution in late December at Grace's Kitchen in Plainfield.

To sign up for the Food Drive, reach out to Greg Canose,   [email protected] or 908-766-4251.

During the season of Advent, please prayerfully consider a friend or neighbor whom you will invite to "Come and See"
St. Bernard's on a Sunday in early 2019. You'll arrange a date and accompany the friend(s) or neighbor(s) during worship and coffee hour, introducing them to Sunday morning. Perhaps you can extend an invitation for a Christmas service, too! Speak to Pastor Beth or a Vestry member to learn more or if you have any questions. Forms are available in the church pews which can be returned in the offering plate, by mail, or by emailing our Parish Administrator at [email protected].
