Annual Meeting

December 9th there will only be one service at
10:00 am for our Annual Meeting.
We will discuss the coming year, review our finances, and elect five  new vestry members. No adult or youth Christian education. 

Catechesis will take place during the meeting.
Children in Catechesis will join their families for communion. Nursery will be available.
 
PLEASE NOTE - Only one service on December 9th at 10:00 am, including our Annual Meeting with Voting for new Vestry members.

Liturgy of Hope Eucharist
Wednesday, December 12 at 6 pm

The holidays can be a difficult time. If you or someone you know is experiencing sorrow during the holiday season, join us for this time of worship. In this Eucharistic liturgy we recognize that things are not always "merry" and "bright"; there is grief and there is darkness, but there is always hope. We encourage you to invite friends and family.
Christmas Pageant
December 16th
Our annual Christmas pageant will be Sunday, December 16th at the 8:30 am service!
Practice times are: Saturday December 1st from 9-11 am, Sunday December 9th from 12-2 pm, and there is a MANDATORY dress rehearsal on Saturday December 15th from 9 am-noon.

Wesley Arning Ordained
To The Sacred Order
Of Priests
Our own Wesley Arning will be ordained a priest on Saturday, December 15th at 10 am at
St. James the Less Episcopal Church in Madison, TN
. We invite
you to join the larger diocese
at the ordination.

Poinsettia Dedications
Christmas Flowers
These will be on the Flower Guild bulletin board in the Narthex this week. Deadline for Poinsettia is Sunday Dec. 23rd. 

There will also be flowers on the altar throughout Christmas. If you wish to contribute to those the deadline is Monday Dec. 17th. These are firm deadlines because the office staff needs time to prepare the
bulletins and print. 

Please leave envelopes in the box on the Flower Guild bulletin board or in the Flower Guild mail
slot in the office.

Ladies Night Out
Ladies Night Out - December 13th
Please join us for Ladies Night Out, Thursday, December 13th , anytime between 6-9 pm at Libby Willis' home, 730 E. Burton Street, downtown Murfreesboro (2 blocks behind Central Magnet, corner of Burton & Hale). It is a very casual evening intended simply for fellowship. People typically bring along whatever beverage they might like to drink . If your day permits, bring along a snack to share as well.  Hope to see you!

Fall Quarterly Food Drive
This Sunday, December 9th, we will be collecting food for St. Paul's Fall Quarterly Food Drive, benefiting the Rutherford County Food Bank.  

Donations can be dropped curbside in front of the church office that day, or can be delivered to the Narthex.

BEER AND CAROLS
December 9th, 4-6 pm
Please join us at the Little Harpeth Brewery, Dec. 9th from 4-6 pm for a night of singing and merriment benefiting the programs of Lutheran Services in Tennessee including the Healthy Gardens in Murfreesboro. Auction items include a 2018-19 team signed hockey stick from the Nashville Predators. $10 donation at the door is appreciated.

Coldest Nights News
More shelter nights this past week! Supplies are always needed. A Coldest Nights Giving Board has been set
up in the Parish Hall that lists all of the needs. Warm coats, sweaters, gloves, hats, socks, scarves
are always welcome. 

If you would like to be a Nightly Volunteer (6:30pm to 8:30pm), please contact Liz Huber ( [email protected] ).
                             
CHRISTMAS CARD PROJECT UPDATE
Cards have been placed in the offices of 3 non-profits - Safe Haven, Greenhouse Ministries, and Journey Home. The clients really enjoy being able to send Christmas Cards to friends and family. 

Unused Christmas Cards and postage are always welcome. Please drop off cards or postage to
Liz Huber at the church office. Remember the church office is closed on Friday.
                     
Bell Ringing
There are still times available to show that an hour of your time is worth more than a "drop in the bucket!!!"  The times and places for St. Paul's to ring the bell for the
Salvation Army are: 

Saturday, December 8th at the Kroger on Memorial Blvd. Times still available are 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, and 7-8. Or

  Saturday, December 15th at Hobby Lobby. Open time slots are 10-11, 11-12, 4-5, 6-7, and 7-8.

Craft and Bake Sale Results
Thank you to everyone who contributed items to this year's sale and silent auction!  Thank you also to everyone who shopped or made donations!! Together we raised $2,087 for Fr. Colin's Discretionary Fund and
the CONNECT Ministry Fund.
