Rabbi's Message
This Shabbat we have the unique privilege to read from three Sifrei Torah.  We read six Aliyot from the Parshat Hashavua - Mikeitz.  The seventh Aliyah is the Rosh Chodesh reading.  The Maftir Aliyah is for Chanukah.
Often in life we have to juggle various different situations and demands for our attention.  When those demands are all "Good" or for Simcha needs, we should relish those rare opportunities.  This Shabbat represents exactly that.  We have our beautiful Shabbat as always combined with a new month and a festive Chag of Chanukah.  Let us embrace this fusion of joy and simcha and hope it will carry us through the dark and cold winter months.

Shabbat Chanukah
Every year we have at least one Shabbat Chanukah.
Fridays these days are short enough as it is, and with the need to light our Chanukah candles at home (and in Shul) we seem to require even more time on a very short day.  The key is preparation.
Please read HERE for a summary of the laws for Friday afternoon.
