RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

Beginning on Wednesday, February 26, this 10-week class is an adaptation of the University of Illinois Psychology Department’s Mindfulness Training (MT) curriculum ( https://mindfulness.illinois.edu/). Dave Sharpe and Laura Haber have recently been trained as mindfulness instructors and will assist Dr. Christopher Menard in leading this class. A sorrow shared by Rev. Florence Caplow
UUCUC member Anne Reeser passed away in Monticello on Monday, January 27, after pneumonia and a brief time in hospice. She will be deeply missed.

From the January 26, 2020 Service

A sorrow from Jerry Carden
In memory of Forest Brown, who died recently. Forest was a tireless soldier for LGBTQ rights. He served as the chair of the Gay Community AIDS project for 3 terms and took care of countless young men dying of AIDS, at a time when there were no treatment or drugs. He was also known for wearing fabulous hat creations and was a devout Episcopalian.

A sorrow from Kathy Frizzell
Another week, another loss of a long-time member of our congregation: Bob Spitze (Spit-zee). A wonderful, joyful, all-around great gentleman and long-time professor in College of Agriculture now known as ACES. He will be missed.

A sorrow from Cindy Loui
A candle of sorrow for long-time member Bob Spitze, who died recently. We will remember his joyful, positive spirit, and his outstanding, professional career.

A sorrow from Terri Frederick
My 77 year old father was in a serious accident in St. Louis, and is currently hospitalized and facing surgeries.
