WELCOME TO WELLNESS
October News & Updates
Strong roots are essential for continued growth. At Samsara Wellness Center, we are growing deeper roots into the community by advocating for change in self-care practices. We want our community members to be educated and confident in their relationship to their bodies and self-care practices such as meditation, yoga, pranayama, massage, energy healing, foods and sound healing.
We at Samsara support self-adornment and self-expression. We want your experience of getting a tattoo or a piercing to be uplifting, fun and sacred. We want the tattoo or piercing to help you feel empowered and whole.
We at Samsara welcome people of all races, classes, ethnicities, sexual preferences and religions to come an join us in all that we stand for and all that we do.
Thank you all for your continued support! If you love what we do, tell a friend or write a review! We could use your help to grow!

WORKSHOPS WITH ANTHONY BENANTI
Falling Workshop
Sat, Nov 3rd from 1-3PM
If you want to balance in your inversions you
have to break your attachment to the wall. That means dealing with the fear of falling. It’s the only way to truly progress.Falling is as much a part of balancing as core strength. In this workshop Anthony will share his technique, experience and expertise of falling and overcoming fear. This workshop will take your inversion practice to the next level.
Each workshop is $40.
Register for both Falling & Sthira/Sukham to receive $5 off!
Sthira/Sukham
Sun, Nov 4th from 1-3PM
Many turn to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali for guidance in their yoga practice. What you may not know is that this body of work was written long before Hatha Yoga was born. In fact, it was written during a completely different time in yoga philosophy and history. The author (some say authors) were not concerned with the physical body’s health and wellness. The very opposite in fact. Their only purpose of practice was jivanmukti or “liberated soul”. To transcend the physical plane was the goal and therefore no time was spent on making the body stronger or more flexible. Sutra 2:46 Sthira sukham asanam means the 'seat is both steady and easeful”. We will explore this concept through asana and discussion.
Student Highlight: Joel McKenna!
Why did you start yoga?
I remember Jim Quick say "as the body moves the mind grooves", and that inspired me the learn the nouns that are the verbs of certain postures in a yogi practice.

What do you get out of the practice?
I'm only 5 months in to this Yoga game. It has a holistic approach to being in the present, and asks to focus on our ever present companion: breath , posture, and musculature. Past and future and things that carry us off the mat.

Any suggestions for new practitioners?
For those who are new to yoga like me, I suggest being curious, courageous, playful, and relentless to at least try to do the weird esoteric moves.

What is your favorite pose?
Cobra: It is a move I just woke up on the mat yesterday. Linda lets us make up our own inversion near the end of the class. It is when you hang your legs over your head while balancing on the for arms with your hands on the ground. It's tricky but it feels good.
