Welcome Ayuda's New Social Services Director, Diana Ortiz
Please join Ayuda in extending a warm welcome to Diana Ortiz, our new Director of Social Services.

"I was born and raised in Colombia. After I graduated college in Bogota, I had the opportunity to work in New York City for a social services agency. I loved every minute of my commute to Harlem and the Bronx (maybe not every minute, but most of my time there).

For the past 15 years, I have been connected to various issues related to the immigrant community, individuals facing complex trauma, and in particular, those experiencing intimate partner violence, child abuse, and sexual violence. I am thrilled to be part of Ayuda."
Exelon Supports Ayuda's September Brief Advice & Referral Clinic
With the pandemic, Ayuda has had to remotely adapt to meet the increasing needs of the immigrant communities in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

Ayuda's pro bono program is a great example of how quickly Ayuda was able to transition to our "new normal". Our pro bono team has begun offering remote brief advice and referral clinics with the support of our pro bono partners.

For our September remote clinic Ayuda received assistance from our partners at Exelon. We are extremely grateful to Exelon and their lead volunteers, Jill Flack and Jeanne Dworetzky, who have helped us to be there for low-income immigrant families in need.
Join Ayuda in Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month: September 15 - October 15
All month long, Ayuda will highlight the voices, stories, and pressing topics of the diverse range of Hispanic, Latinx, Afro-Latinx, and Indigenous experiences.

We are excited to announce our first event planned for this month will also be the launch of our Ayuda Speaker Series: Faces of Change.

This series will create space for informative and educational discourse on the impact of current events, cultural shifts, policy changes, and other issues affecting the immigrant communities Ayuda serves.

Stay tuned for exciting details - coming soon to our social media platforms! Not following us? Connect with us today.
