THE GOOD AROUND US: SECOND HARVEST
SECOND HARVEST
Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will now be serving Beaver Dam and the surrounding communities at Moraine Park's Beaver Dam campus. They held their first distribution on November 10. It was a very cold Saturday morning, but thanks to the hard work of Lisa Pollard, dean at the Beaver Dam Campus and Steve Logan, gas utility instructor, the distribution was able to be held inside of the Energy Education Center.

NURSING STUDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY
NURSING On November 11, second-semester nursing students participated in the Campbellsport Elementary School hearing and vision screenings. When they arrived, the school was holding a special Veteran's Day program in the gymnasium, and all of the children were participating. So, they decided to attend the program while they waited for the screening to begin.

ROSY SAMOU
rosy

To say that Rosy Samou, of Ripon, has had a winding journey to get to Moraine Park Technical College would be an understatement. Rosy is a native of Cameroon, Africa, and in the last five years has moved internationally twice, traveled nearly 10,000 miles, learned English, gave birth to her third child, earned her CNA, enrolled in the nursing program, and is now petitioning to be a Registered Nurse (RN).

RACHEL TEASE
Rachel

Moraine Park Technical College works to build culture and diversity into the everyday lives of student and staff, and English Learning Language (ELL) instructor, Rachel Tease, is one person to do just that. Her role at the college is so much more than helping individuals navigate a foreign language, land, and culture.  She also works to educate students and staff on diversity and welcomes individuals into her classroom just as they are.
