VIDEO: Head Custodian Brent Jones, 2018 Classified Employee of the Year
As we round out 2018, we are celebrating our Employees of the Year each week. Meet Brent Jones, Head Custodian at Williamson Elementary in Rancho Cordova and the District's 2018 Classified Employee of the Year.
Jones has been a long time employee with the District. He worked as a night custodian for fourteen years and is in his sixteenth year with the District. This is his second year at Williamson Elementary, as their Head Custodian. Jones made such an impact in his first year on campus, he was selected as their Employee of the Year.
When Jones first started as Head Custodian at Williamson, he said he wanted to make it a trophy school that students and families want to go to and staff feels proud of. Jones said he takes great pride in fixing and cleaning things on campus and actually finds it therapeutic. Jones reiterated the important role he and all school custodians play in keeping the schools safe and clean for students and staff.
Jones grew up and graduated in our District. He says he is most grateful to be the Head Custodian at Williamson Elementary where his two kids Kiley and Jonathan attend school. "It is great to get the "Hi dad," when I'm going around doing stuff," Jones said.
