We are excited to share with you the second issue of Charity in Motion. This digital newsletter is designed to keep friends of the Community connected to the mission and ministries of the Sisters of Charity and to the many ways the SC charism continues to reach out today. Rereading the familiar Advent Scriptures, we are offered opportunities to see glimpses of our final destination. Yet, we are distracted, ever conscious of our sisters and brothers on the U.S./Mexico border. As our own SCs and Associates serve as volunteers, aiding those from Central America who are seeking asylum, we invite you to join us as we pray in support, assuring that all migrants will be met with respect, compassion and love. “As pilgrims we pray for the wisdom to know the needs of our sisters and brothers and we dare to risk a caring response” (SC Charism Statement).

Journeying Through Advent
Throughout the season of Advent the Sisters of Charity will be providing video reflections for our web and social media friends. A new reflection will be posted each Monday in Advent using inspirational Scriptures to direct our prayer. View the videos at http://www.srcharitycinti.org/news.htm#advent.

In addition, we offer this Advent calendar developed by EarthConnection, a ministry of the Sisters of Charity and a center for learning and reflection about living lightly on Earth. The calendar provides ideas for prayer, reflection and action. www.scearthconnection.org
