SUMMER FUN
Families Connected has some fun new activities planned this month! First up is a Virtual Scavenger Hunt that starts August 3. This will be followed by a little treat for parents, a Do It Yourself Self Care Kit. Families Connected will provide all the supplies for parents to make a bath bomb and face mask - everything you need to shelter in place and rejuvenate in the bathtub! Lastly, we'll host a Behavior Tips & Tricks conversation for parents to share tips about what is working for their children during this unprecedented time.
SERVICES EXPAND TO ENSURE FAMILIES HAVE RESOURCES, CONNECTION
The Arc Lane County has received an Oregon Health Authority grant to provide wraparound services to families through Families Connected.
Edith Osorio will joinFamilias en Conexiónto provide outreach and wraparound supports to families who are Spanish-speaking.
Families Connected will also provide wraparound services to other People of Color, as well as families living in more rural areas, such as Oakridge and Cottage Grove.
The wraparound services will help ensure families have access to resources, connection and parent education during the pandemic.

All participants who register before August 10 will be entered into a raffle for a gourmet food basket, with the winner being announced at the live event on August 21.
FAMILY FITNESS EVENTS GO VIRTUAL
FACT Oregon's All Ability Tri4Youth will start August 8 and run through August 22 with participants completing a 2.53 mile swim, bike and run triathlon.
The Northwest Down Syndrome Association will also host its annual BuddyFestNW via Facebook live on Saturday, August 29.
HAVE YOU BEEN COUNTED?
The 2020 census determines how federal funding and resources will be distributed across Oregon communities for the next decade. This funding includes Medicaid (which fund supports and services for people with disabilities) and education.

THREE MORE DESTINATIONS IN
STAYCATION AROUND THE WORLD
Families have ventured to the exciting countries of Ireland, Egypt, and Italy with the Staycation Around the World Kits.
Next stops include: India, Japan and Peru.
Thanks to a grant from the Oregon Community Foundation, The Arc has put together theStaycation Around the Worldkits that are loaded with fun activities, food and crafts. Our friends at First Baptist Church are delivering the kits to families each week.
Families don't need a physical kit to participate. Simply check out Staycation Around the World to see the fun crafts, activities and recipes.
